First off, we had a "halloween" potluck at my work on Wednesday. The company bought Pizza hut Pizza and everyone else was supposed to bring salads, deserts, etc. Anyway, I took a BIG veggie tray with a ranch dip made from light sour cream so that I knew I would have something good and healthy to eat. I made room in my day so that I could have pizza. The pizza's were small so I had two pieces and I loaded up another plate with salad and veggies and a bit of dip. I had my pizza, still had a good dinner and only used 2 of my flex points. I still lost 3.2 lbs for the week!!
I am learning more and more that it isn't about depriving yourself, but just plan and being aware of what you are eating. If you love pizza or pasta, then make sure you have it! same with chocolate or cookies! Just be aware and realize that you can't eat it everyday and you can't eat as much as you want either. I am in this for the long haul, so I will not make changes that I can't live with forever!!
How was your week?????

Great job on fitting pizza in and still having a great week! I've been feeling like pizza too so I bought some lite english muffins, pizza sauce, cheese and LF pepperoni and made my own mini ones tonight. They turned out pretty good, still not the same as the real stuff but good enough to satisfy me. I'm still experimenting on how I can make the things I love to eat a bit healthier and fewer in points than the original.

coolness valeri!! we had a good week of starting every meal with a salad and allen even started complaining his salad bowl was too SMALL! :D we've just been eating healthier combinations of things and we're all feeling much more energetic. now we need to get on to figuring out the bigger but still healthy meals are. :)
Awesome Val! ITA it's all about making the right choices- having a little of what you love is no crime! I've found out that 1/2 of a Take Five candy bar (have y'all had them yet? OMG) is only 2.5 points and soooooooooooooo worth it! NUMMY!
Anyhoo--- this is copied from the success stories post:
Ok, I've been off track for a while b/c of the carnival at Tate's school. I was spending 7-16 hrs at the school every day! I even had to eat school lunches! eek...
ANYHOO-------- I'm still down 5#, no more- but I just did my measurements.
Waist-down 1"
Hips- down 3"
Bust- down 2"
Arms & Thighs are unchanged, but *yay* for the others!

thanks gals! I am down another 2.6 lbs for this week. that makes 18.6 now! wow this is easy! I love eating healty and I am so happy that I made this decision. I am completely in love with this veggie soup. I could eat it every day easily! It doesn't seem possible that something that tastes so good could be ZERO points, but it is!! YUMMMYYYYY!!! I love salads too, I make a big bowl and put in my food saver canister and vaccum it, stays so fresh and YUMMY! I also love stirfry too. I love my veggies. I could never be a vegan cause I love meat, but I never have a problem with 5 a day fruits and veggies. I am usually way over it! I have some great recipies, let me dig em out and I will post them soon!
Margie, thats a great start! Make a BIG salad (just watch your dressings! lol) I love using a raspberry vinegarette by Kraft (light done right). 2TBSP only 1 point.
Tina! that is great! I still have not taken measurements. It would be too depressing for me right now! lol my clothes are looser though, so I must be smaller by a tiny bit anyway! lol

Papa murphys has a "delite" pizza that isn't too bad. My son loves it. I would rather spend a few more points and get the regular crust when I have it though. Stouffers has some pretty decent frozen ones in the Lean Cuisine line. Way to go on making things you love to eat healthier!!
Val! WTG yet again! You rock!
Ermmmmmm......... can I get that soup recipe???? plllllllease???????

WW Veggie Soup (valeri's version)
This is slightly modified from the original recipie, but you can add, take away, substitue however you like. Please note that it is only Zero POINTS if you add only zero point veggies and broth. If you add rice, pasta, potatoes, meat.. add points accordingly.
2/3 c sliced or diced carrot
1/2 c diced onion
2 cloves garlic (minced)
3 c. FF broth. (I used 2 c veggie and 1c beef)
1 1/2 cups diced green cabbage
1/2 c green beans
1 TBSP tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c zucchini
I also add 1 small can of diced tomatoes
1. in large pot sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, saute` the carrot, onion and garlic over low heat until softened (about 5 min)
2. Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste, tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt (I add fresh ground pepper too). bring to boil, lower heat and simmer for 15 min.
3. Stir in zucchini and heat 3-4 min.
Per serving: 42 calories; 0 g fat; 2g fiber ZERO points!
I make a double batch and put it in the fridge. I eat on it all week and it tastes better at the end of the week! lol

If you wanna spice that recipe up a bit you can add a bit of Pace Picante sauce to taste. It is a freebie veggie.
