Weekly Travel Chat and Mini Album Challenge

Join Marcee and Meg (MommyMeg) in the chat room in
every Monday at 10 p.m. EST From November 7th till
December 12th for a weekly chat to inspire you to create
an album of your travel memories. We've brainstormed
ideas for you each week and look forward to sharing
them with you.

Chat attendees will receive an 8x8 mini travel page plopper
by Marcee. If you attend every chat, you'll have a
complete travel mini album! (The travel mini album
kit will be in the store too if you miss any pages.)

PRIZES: You do not have to use DSP products in your
travel album, but to receive prizes you must use at
least one of the kits or elements in the store.

Woohoo! I've so been wanting to scrap my honeymoon photos to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I've started a 4x6 album but have only gotten around to making 3 pages and one of them I don't like. LOL!

Can't wait to jump in on this and get some ideas and helpful hints. I'll definitely try my best to make every chat. I think my problem is that it was almost 5 years ago and my memory isn't retaining the details.

I don't think her mini album is in the store yet, but I've seen it and it's awesome! Very vintage American, suitcases, grungy colors, stamps/posters...very cool!

Also, I'm doing a full size album for people to look at for inspiration. I'm using several of Marcee's elements like her stamps, postcards, and old world backgrounds. I'm also using Meryl's A Story to Tell kit (for it's neutral colors) and Lauren's Old Man of the Sea kit and add ons (because my album is for a cruise vacation).

The idea behind my half of this challenge is to help people mix and match kits and still stay within a theme. Marcee is helping with inspiration and working with her fab mini album.

Well, I definately have many travel photos to scrap. I won't be home next Monday, but I will try and make the rest. I'm was contemplating asking hubby to log on Monday night for me but he is computer challenged and would probably threaten divorce if I even suggested such a thing. So, I'll wait until the first page is up for sale. And won't travel albums make great gifts!!!!!

Question for non-American types:

Is there an interest in a mini-chat that would be held Tuedays at 3pm EST? Just to keep you caught up in what was discussed, AND....so you can still be eligible for the free stuff!

The time is somewhat negotiable, I just have to arrange around kid schedules. Let me know!

I goofed! When we were scheduling this chat, I didn't realize that Lisa Carter's Designer's Challenge goes for an hour and a half (until 10:30). So, we may not be able to start until then.

Also, last I checked, the chat room is still down. Hopefully it will be up and functioning by 9:00. We'll see. I'll post again here when I get it figured out.

I canT get in either! So what's up? Why so many problems lately? If the servers need maintenance, why not post it ON THE CALENDER. It would help those who may have canceled other plans for the chat, and they could do other things with their time instead of trying to get in again and again and again.... I know it's irratating to all you designers and staff people too, but sometimes it's better to tell us what's going on, instead of keeping us in the dark.

I think the chat program is run 'offsite' but loaded into the pages here. I don't think they know it's acting up until we complain. I wanted to make this chat and the Pass the Pixel one that's supposed to be after it - but I'm getting no where with the chat room. For those of you that missed it:

MandyNIO was the winner of the quote challenge. Mandy, email Marcee with your "real" name and email address so she can send you the coupon.

This week's challenge is to use/create an itinerary for the trip you're documenting in your album. This can be used as a table of contents for your album, or a summary of events, or simply as a great element for a page. I have to admit that when I first looked at Stacey's new mini, I didn't think it was for me, color-wise. But your recoloring project has given me some great ideas. Terrific work, and some great memories to cherish.

I finally finished the my travel album. This album is for my mom as a Christmas present. But I also decided to do a key ring for my siblings too. The cruise line gave out dozens of key rings so I thought they'd be put to good use!

This will teach me to get on the forums more often. I worked on this album for almost 6 months for my dear friend. The photos and journaling are all hers, but the scrapbooking is all mine. I sent it to her for Christmas and she was super floored. I printed them 12x12 and sent them in a lovely album (sbtoshare.com is wonderful for printing, btw!). So, I wanted to share something that I am really proud of, even if the deadline is long gone.

Hi, I'm new to this thread but not to DSP. I love doing travel albums and just got done with one for my friend when he came to visit us here in Alaska and now I'm doing one for my friend for the European cruise she and her husband took. I don't normally do 8x8 pages though so can I still post my layouts in this thread? I'll try to make the chats, but my Monday nights tend to always be occupied :(

I figured I would go ahead and post here the one travel album that I've finished already. I just finished this up a few months ago for my friend that visited us last summer:

I also have started three other travel albums. One is our trip to California and Vegas last year. The other one I just started yesterday will have our pictures from our roadtrip to Fairbanks in it as well as any other layouts about any more road trips we may take.
