Hi,
We are thinking about setting up my old computer for my 11 yr old daughter. I thought she might be interested in digiscrapping. She paper scraps when I do which isn't very often anymore.
I use pse2.0 I would like to get her an much easier, simple one. Which on would you suggest???

i'd suggest HP CSA (click on new to digital above for software info). it's basically an assembly program, very easy, plus it includes DSP graphics! :D

You could try FotoFusion http://www.lumapix.com , as presumably you already have a range of elements and papers for her to use.
You could download the trial and see what you think, feel free to have a look at my gallery if you want to see the sorts of things you can do with it.
The base version is about $25 from memory

If you can get your hand on an older version of Picture It - that is a very awesome program to start with - my 9 year old uses it quite a bit and now wants to move on to PSE4!

Use what you have.

I agree with wfclair's post.
Reasons:
A) Todays kids are very bright and pick things up very quickly, why handicap them?
B) You know your own software so why buy something they might ask questions that however easy you have not ran into yet becuase it is not your software.
C) If they do come up with a question you don't know for your soft you will both learn the answers together which will be a bonus for you.
D) If you ever have questions as to if something in your soft has gone buggy you can verify via their PC.
E) If your PC is sent to the PC doctor you can still function without skipping a beat.
F) Learning more anvanced software at home can ONLY help them out in the real world and school.
I am sure there are more reasons but I'll stop here for now :)

I agree with William too - My 12 year old plays around with my full version of photoshop - They pick up things far quicker than we adults do - and they will probably be using advanced graphics programmes in school too ( if not now then in a few years ) - You will also be able to help if they find something tricky

My 6 year old got his first PC at age 5 and shortly there after started using it for reader rabbit software and any other learning products I buy for him. He puts the software in and starts it up using Icons (I have autoplay disabled) I also have my fairly powerful Picture publisher on his PC (it's a little bit lacking to run my PS or else he would have that on his PC.) It's kind of neat to hear your 6 year old come home from school and tell you he thinks something is wrong with the PC's at school. I found out that they are heavily disabled and he noticed this from working on our PC's at home. Don't sell your kids short, it's amazing how sharp their little minds can be.

ditto on letting her use what you use my 5 year old can use layers in PSP make cool effects and save them in his own folder....He has also made a couple of digital layouts using kits and dragging bits he wants.
