I am looking for a good way to organize all of my elements for my digital scrapbooking. I was told that Adobe PhotoAlbum was a great tool for this, but when I tried it, it gave me an error and said it did not support .PNG files. Does anybody know if this software actually works for our elements??? or Does anybody know a good software or way to organize the different elements, kits, etc???

Thanks

Kitty.

I don't use any particular tool, I just created a "Scraps" file in "my documents" and put all of my digital stuff in there. I have a folder for "layouts" a folder for "embellishments" one for "papers" etc and organize them this way. When I work on a layout ( I use Photoshop CS) I just click on "file" and then "open" and browse to my documents...scraps and open it up. You can customize the "properties" of each file to put a little "image" from the file on the cover so I can just dig through them based on what is on the cover and get what I want out of that file.

The thing I like about this is that I can put all of my embellishments in one place but ALSO "copy" particular ones to keep in the layout they came with so I have all the combination items with their original kits AND in my embellishment file too.

Photoshop Album should support PNG files. I know there are people on here that use it.
Anyone know?

I organize my stuff by kit name. I make sure I've also got the designer's name on the folder name. The folder names look like this:

Blue Winds - Marcee Duggar
Rustic November - LaWanna Desjardin
Edges - Lauren Bavin

I don't take elements out of the kit and organize them separately. Most of the time I'm using the kits one at a time. I rarely use things from more than one kit, because I like to use things were the colorways match. Also separating elements out makes giving credit almost impossible.

When I'm working in Photoshop I just open Window's Explorer in a window that is smaller than the Photoshop window. I Set the Explorer window on top of the Photoshop window and look through the kit and drag whatever I want into the Photoshop window.

I use photoshop for organizing the elements (I also have them organized in files)...but this way I can call up "brads" and see all my choices. I mix and match kits (especially the small elements) often so this is necessary for me. It took forever to catalog things...but it's cool. Not sure why yours won't do it...
