Hi, all, I read something in the rules about not being able to use kits from other commercial sites. I assume that means kits I bought at other sites, but what about freebies from other sites? Are those OK as long as I credit? Do I say which site I downloaded from?

DSP is the only site I've bought kits from but I've downloaded freebies from a few others, so I just want to make sure.

LaDonna, you can use kits from other sites, you just can't mention the other site in the credits. Simply list the designer of the kit.

Hope that helps!

Great! Thanks for helping to clarify that! :) That makes things much easier quite honestly!

When I first started downloading kits and other stuff, I was not careful at all about where I put it in my scrapping folder. So I've had this mish mash of stuff and I'm trying to organize it by site. Some of the designers are really good about including the download site in their Terms of Use, but not all of them. All of them, however, include the name of the designer :D

Whew! Thanks alot!

if you know the name of the kit feel free to include that as well. If you don't know the kit name or the designer, only the site, then either say unknown designer, don't post that layout, or go to the site and look up the kit if you can

Really it's just about not mentioning competitors with site names, acronyms, links, company names, etc

Other than that, use it and post away!

Thanks so much for asking this question, and answering it. I was a bit iffy about this as well, but now I know.
