Image too pixelated

I have PSE 3 and recently had a computer crash and had to re-install it. Now when working on an image, i can see tiny pixels and it is distorted. I have no idea why. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks

What pecentage are you viewing the picture at? If you are zoomed in it may looked pixely. What is the size and dpi of the original picture? Did you alter it at all?

thanks for your help, and on Christmas Day! I scanned at 200 dpi and also imported a pic from the internet. I cropped the subjects out of the picture, but it must have something to do with the program. I'm not really doing anything different than I usually do. even printing looks pixelated and I'm printing 8 X 10. which is size of image I saved.

What is the size of the original picture? If you scanned it in at 200dpi but it was 4x6 then it would no longer be 200dpi at 8x10. I'm not looking at PSE right now, but can you click on Image>Image Size and check what it says there to help clarify what you are really working with?

Happy to help if and when I can. This is one of the few times that I can get on the computer too so I'm taking advantage of it big time. :)
