How on earth do you keep up with all the events around here?
No one can! Every month there are lots of contests, challenges, and special events, but they’re all conveniently listed in one place right here. Try them all or try just one. It's all about having fun!
This site is huge! Is there a map in case I get lost?
It's okay, we get lost sometimes too. Check out the site map here.
With members across the globe, how do I know what time events begin?
This website operates on DSP time (better known as Eastern US). An easy way to always know DSP time is to set your Forum time to Eastern. Visit the Forum and click on My Account. Click Edit Options and under Date & Time Options, set your time to GMT - 5:00 Eastern. Then you will see DSP time at the bottom of each Forum page.
Another quick way is to check the bottom of the Chat Room page where the DSP current time is displayed.
There is also a handy chart to convert to your timezone here. |
You have newsletters, clubs, blogs, and RSS feeds?! Wow! Where can I find them?
We sure do! Find more info here.
Why am I not receiving the newsletters?
First, be sure you’re signed up. (We know… but it happens a lot, so we have to say it!) Then, check your spam folder. EarthLink and a few other service providers do not like the software program used to send our newsletter and they block it as a virus. Please be assured, the newsletter is completely safe (except for the dangerously addicting nature of it). Adding newsletter@digitalscrapbookplace.com to your safe list prevents this problem.
Will your products work with my MAC?
Certainly! To unzip our files, you will need a MAC unzip utility such as StuffIt Expander. You can download it free here. This program can handle both Mac stuffed files and PC zipped files. It doesn't work "automatically" though. When the file is downloaded, double-click, or command-click and choose Expand.
Why do you offer graphics at 300ppi and can I still scrap at 200ppi?
There’s a change coming to the DSP store! Going forward, DSP will only offer new products in the 300ppi size. There is no change for current products that are available in 200ppi or in both resolutions; they will remain the same. The change will only affect new products beginning the first of December.
Why did we make this change? Because our servers are bursting at the seams! ONE MILLION downloads mean a LOT of products and bandwidth, so we need to make sure we have available aisles in the store to continue bringing you fresh NEW goodies and keep our current pricing!
What if you want to keep scrapping at 200ppi? You can! And DSP will help!
· We have a free Photoshop action which will resize your kits from 300 to 200 for you and a tutorial for installing actions in Photoshop.
· We have an easy Photoshop Elements tutorial for resizing kits in one step.
· We have a free Paint Shop Pro script for resizing also and a tutorial for installing scripts.
· We also have easy tutorials for resizing or using kits in many software programs (PS, PSE, PSP, Scrapbook Factory, Memory Mixer, etc.)
· We are extending the time to download orders in the store, so you will have 5 days instead of 3!
· We have a CD burning service for those on dialup or limited data plans.
· We'll even have a chat for your questions at 7pm EST on December 1st.
Do you have to resize to 200ppi? No, you have many options!
· The easiest is to simply scrap at 300ppi. No changes needed.
· You may compile page kits at 300ppi and simply reduce to 200ppi before saving your layered file to have a smaller file to work with.
· You may also begin projects at 200ppi and simply bring in the 300ppi graphics, resizing as needed. It's no trouble to mix and match page kits at different resolutions; just adjust your sizes as desired. Most of us do this anyway as we customize our pages.
· If your computer bogs down with larger file sizes, or if you just want to save resources, consider resizing the kits first using the suggestions above.
Can you get all your old 200ppi kits switched to 300ppi so they match? No, this change only affects products going forward from December, so no changes will be made to past orders.
Whether you resize to 200ppi, or scrap at 300ppi, you can continue scrapping as you wish. And you will still find the same high print quality as always at DSP!

So I’ve been making 12x12 digital scrapbook pages. How on earth do I print them?
The traditional scrapbook size of 12x12 can certainly be printed for digital pages. This just requires a wide-format printer, having the pages printed by a local or online printing service, or piecing smaller parts of a page together. Most will just have their pages printed if they don’t have a larger printer. Many local photo or scrapbook stores provide the larger prints. Many online stores (such as Costco.com) also provide this and will ship your prints to you. In the past, people have printed 8.5x11 and adhered to a 12x12 piece of cardstock, then added a title or journaling also. We’re seeing this less and less though as printing services are widely available now. Most 12x12 prints are still less expensive than all of the individual components of a paper-scrapped page added together. Another very popular option is just printing at 8x8. That size album is widely available and very handy!
Can I use DSP graphics to create custom artwork (cards, scrapbook pages, websites, etc.) for others?
| Certainly! Find more info here.
Free or discounted products are not eligible for licensing; you will need to purchase them at full price. You can read our entire Usage Guidelines here. |
Can I share freebies I’ve made on the site?
Thanks for your interest in sharing freebies! Currently the freebies are only offered by DSP staff. It's easiest for the space and time we have and ensures the best quality control as well. We just don't have the resources to check each submission. For now, we hope you enjoy the freebies from Team Digital! And please feel free to make requests for any themes or specific wants in the forums too. Our designers love that!
