Why should I register?
So you don't miss any fun! Registration is free, and allows you to do the following:
  • Receive a FREE gift in your email!
  • View and download freebies!
  • Post new threads
  • Reply to other peoples' threads
  • Edit your posts
  • Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
  • Send private messages to other members
  • Enter events in the forum calendar
To register, you will need to choose a username and password, and a valid email address. This will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can hide your email address, and messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. (To verify this, you can try sending an email message to another user.)

If you are under the age of 13, a parent or guardian must provide consent before you may complete the registration process. More information about this is available during the registration process.

Help! I can’t log in!
We are sorry for your trouble. The store and website (forum, gallery, chat) have separate databases, so they require separate logins. (The store collects billing info, that’s why two are required).

• To log into the SITE (forum, gallery, or chat), use your username and chosen password. If you have forgotten your username or password, click here.

• To log into the STORE, use your email address and chosen password. If you have forgotten your password, click here.

• If you are a DSU student, please log into the SITE (forum, gallery, or chat) as above. Then your private class chat room and class forum will ask for your class password. This is given by your instructor or the DSU Dean.

If you still have trouble logging in, email us. Please include your username so we can check your account. We’ll be sure to help you get in!

What if I forget my username or password?
You might write it down. But click here to recover them. This will bring up a page where you enter your registered email address. An email will be sent to that address instantly, with your username and instructions for resetting your password.

The store requires separate login information from the forums and galleries. If you are trying to login to the store, please go there. If you have forgotten your password to your store account, click here.

But what if I forget my email too?
Again, write it down. Then email help@digitalscrapbookplace.com because you need it and they can do it.

How can I change my email or password?
FORUM: To change the email you have registered for the forum or your password, visit the Forum and click on My Account. Then click Edit Email & Password.

NEWSLETTER: For the newsletter, unsubscribe with your old email address and subscribe with your new address here.

STORE: For the store emails and store newsletter, change it under My Account in the store.

What if I want to change my username?
Email help@digitalscrapbookplace.com and they’ll help you out.

How can I change the information in my profile?
Visit the Forum and click on My Account. Then click any of the links on the left. Please keep the information in your profile up-to-date, especially your email address. You can alter any of the fields in your profile, except your username. You may request that the administrator change your username if necessary by emailing help@digitalscrapbookplace.com.

If you can't edit your profile, you might not have access yet, so just post a few times. New members are required to post in the Forum or Gallery to prove they're not spammers or robots. We hate them.

If I get an error, should I post to the forum so everyone can say "me too"?
We'd rather you didn't. We're always working behind the scenes and are probably already on it. If you must let someone know, you'll get a better response by emailing help@digitalscrapbookplace.com. Plus, it'll be less annoying.

How do I get a cute signature line like others in the forums?
After you have registered, you may set your non-commercial signature. This is a piece of text that you would like to be inserted at the end of all your posts.

Set your signature by editing your account here. Here is a helpful tutorial about adding text and images. Be sure to be considerate to our friends on dial-up!

You will have the option to include your non-commercial signature on any posts you make. If you have specified a signature, the forum will automatically append your signature to any messages you post. You can disable signatures on a per-post basis by un-ticking the 'Show Signature' checkbox when you compose your message. You may turn the signature on and off on posts you have already made by editing the post and altering the state of the 'Show Signature' option.

If you can't edit your signature, you might not have access yet, so just post a few times. New members are required to post in the Forum or Gallery to prove they're not spammers or robots. We hate them.

How do I get a picture under my username? And what is an avatar?
An avatar (the little picture under your username) is a graphical image that represents a person. You can make yours realistic or whimsical, cute or cranky! To change or add your avatar, visit the Forum and click on My Account. Click Edit Avatar and enter the URL to an image on another website or upload one from your computer.

If you can't change your avatar, you might not have access yet, so just post a few times. New members are required to post in the Forum or Gallery to prove they're not spammers or robots. We hate them.

What is the title under my username and how do I change it?
User titles are little sayings (with a few surprises) that appear under your username based on your number of posts. To change yours, simply post more! To see a list of all the titles, click here.

Does this forum use cookies? How can I clear my cookies? Is anyone hungry now?
The use of cookies on this forum is optional, but may enhance your experience of the site. Cookies are used to enable functions such as showing whether or not a thread or forum you are viewing has new posts since your last visit, or to automatically log you back in when you return to the site after being away for a while.
When you register, you will be given the option to 'Automatically login when you return to the site'. This will store your username and password in a cookie, stored on your computer. If you are using a shared computer, such as in a library, school or internet cafe, or if you have reason to not trust any other users that might use this computer, we do not recommend that you enable this.
This forum also gives you the option to use a cookie to track your current session, ensuring that you remain logged-on while browsing the site. If you choose not to store this information in a cookie, the session data will be sent through each link you click. Choosing not to use a cookie may cause problems if your computer's connection to the Internet uses a proxy-server and you share links with other users behind the same proxy. If in doubt, we recommend that you select 'yes' to enable the cookie.
After you have registered, you may alter your cookie options at any time by changing the settings on this page.

You may clear all your cookies by clicking here. If you return to the main index page via the link provided and you are still logged in, you may have to remove your cookies manually.

In Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP:
  1. Click the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Internet Options" from the menu that appears.
  3. Click "Delete Cookies" on the dialog box that appears. It will be in the center area of the "General" tab.
In Mozilla Firefox:
  1. Click the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Options" from the menu that appears.
  3. From the dialog box, select "Privacy" on the left.
  4. Find "Cookies" on the main pane, and click the "Clear" button adjacent to it.
Your cookies should now be removed. You may want to restart the computer and revisit the forums to be sure.

Why do you ask for my birthday? Isn't that kind of rude?
Two reasons. First, because we have to! Digital Scrapbook Place complies with the FTC Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We welcome members under 13, but we legally require parental permission.

More importantly, because we like to send out birthday surprises on your birthday! With so many members, we may forget yours unless you enter it. But don't worry, we won't tell anyone how old you are. And you can change your settings to not show your age under My Account.

What if I am under the age of 13? Can I still participate at DSP?
Absolutely! Digital Scrapbook Place complies with the FTC Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Digital Scrapbook Place COPPA Policy: All users under the age of 13 must seek permission from their parent or guardian in order to gain membership of the Digital Scrapbook Place forums. While we welcome participation from members under 13, we require that a parent or guardian fax or mail back a signed permission form before we grant membership.

For more information about the registration process, or Digital Scrapbook Place forums in general, please email info@digitalscrapbookplace.com .

What if I still have questions or I just can't find an answer?
You might try asking someone smarter than you. Or email info@digitalscrapbookplace.com, they know everything.
