:twins:  I already congratulated Chicks in another thread, but, hey, she deserves another one, so CONGRATULATIONS CHICKS!!! :twins:
Now a request for suggestions: Chicks always creates her layouts in rectangular format, lets have some suggestions for turning that into square format whilst still retaining balance. eg http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...e=the3chickens with this gorgeous one, would the thing to do be to reduce the size of the circle, move it to the right a bit perhaps, maybe remove one of the small photos, perhaps making them square instead of rectangle and retain the three?? What would you do, anyone who cares to reply?? Not just this layout in particular but generally. I would be interested to hear everyone's opoinions.

Awww shucks, Grandma Jill - you just spoiled what I considered to be one of the high points of being lifted - imagining you guys going through the same conversion pains I go through everytime I QC or lift (yes, I'm a meanie )
The particular LO you mentioned was actually a QC which I amended slightly. You can see the original here for comparison. The main changes I did was to move the circle to the middle and remove the upper left strips. Not sure if this will help at all but when I convert a square to my rectangle, I'll anchor the whole of a 12x12 QC template to the lower right corner, start resizing downwards till the photo template sizes looks "right" and then move top-side items further down, left-side items further left, resizing individual items larger/smaller where required. Perhaps doing the reverse would help. Hmmm and I just realised what I said is so basic & obvious and probably not much help at all!
One thing I do for a lift (actually I do this for every LO) is to make my own basic QC of the original LO so I can resize and move the shapes around till it "feels" right (you can tell from that statement that I know nothing about design concepts ) I use a clipping mask for the papers and photos so its easy to change and keep moving stuff around without an actual commitment. Its the only way to go for anyone who tweaks as much as me (imagine having to crop your photo 300 times just because you thought it would look better if it was 1mm smaller or positioned 2mm more to the left/right/top/down ) OK, I should stop talking now - I really have to stop this bad habit I have of rambling on and on!

Sorry to spoil your fun Chicks . I hadn't actually thought about what you have to do for EVERY scraplift you do..oops
I follow the same guidelines ...fiddle till it looks right . I like your idea of "anchoring" the 12x12 and resizing to fit your own requirements. I'll see how I go, there are so many in your gallery I would like to scraplift, I'll probably still be trying to decide which one to do a month from here . (Shhh, this granny is a bit slow)
