Challenge 1 - July 6 to July 19 - Lucky Dips

See here for the changes to the Lucky Dips Challenges as from July:

Challenge 1 - Lucky Dips and Re-Phrase It combined challenge – July 6 to July 19

***Lucky Dips is a monthly Collect A Kit Challenge ***
You can win a free kit just by following the rules and playing along by completing the 2 challenges for this month.

You have two nominated products to use for this challenge:
Lemon N Lime Fiz Kit and Dirty Vanilla Kit If you don’t already have them you can purchase by clicking the links.

Scroll down for instructions.

Here is the Collect a Kit you will win by entering both challenges using the nominated products for July Lucky Dips.

Preview – Singing The Blues:
NOTE: This kit is in the store so don’t buy it if you want to win it by entering the Lucky Dips Challenges.

Nominated products are:

Lemon N Lime Fiz Kit and Dirty Vanilla Kit If you don’t have them you can purchase by clicking the links. If you don’t want the free kit but still want to play along you can use any of our great DSP products. BUT you wont get the free kit.

Note:
I will accept a small amount of other DSP product but the LO has to be predominantly the nominated product/s

Instructions:

** Re-Phrase It** Prompt:

Once in a …

The phrase prompt for this part of the challenge must be included in your LO, it can be in the title, the beginning of the journaling or you can create a poem with the phrase in one of its lines.

**Sketch** Prompt: See image below, right click on it to ‘save image as’
  • You Can…
    • …Rotate or flip the sketch image
    • …Add more embellishments and make any changes to these you feel appropriate
    • …Use any swirl embellishment (doesn’t have to be exactly the same as in the sketch (Can be ANY DSP swirly type element)
    • …Blend backgrounds
    • …Re-colour any items used to make the LO cohesive.
    • Must add Journaling and/or
    • …add a title to your LO
  • You Can’t…
    • …Leave any part of the sketch pieces off the LO – what this means is, there are a total of 12 shapes all these have to be on the LO in the same order.
    • …Add any more photo frames. These are the 2 circles on the sketch.
    • …Change the order of any of the pieces on the LO.

Place your LO’s in Erica’s Lucky Dips Gallery or if it’s doing double/triple duty elsewhere I will need a link to your LO in this forum.

Some really simple rules:
  • Please use only DSP products – nominated product or other.
  • Use the Sketch provided
  • Must include a title and/or some journaling using the prompt.
  • Please put your LO in the Erica’s Lucky Dips Gallery if possible or if doing double/triple duty a link in this forum, especially if you intend to do both challenges. (How will I know to include you in the draw otherwise)
  • Please comment generously on other member’s layouts in this challenge. I know I don’t really need to ask you that because you’re all so good at it anyway.
  • Have FUN
If anything is not clear please just ask any questions here

Challenge Sketch Template - right click and 'save image as'
Don't include the information I have placed here for clarification on your LO

A few questions

Do we need to use both kits for this challenge or one is fine.

Should we be doing two LO's- 1-the rephrase it and the other the sketch or they are to be combined in one LO

it is one layout using the sketch and the phrase and parts or all of both kits in the one layout

will there be a PSD of this sketch? Or, is it okay if the shapes are not as exact as in the sketch? I'm worried about doing this wrong. but I have my dirty vanilla ready to go!

no psd of the sketch you just copy if yourself the way I do it is to open a bg paper and drag the sketch on top resize it to fit the whole bg and then just trace over each piece

Thanks Caro for answering those questions, as it's the school holidays I'm grandson sitting today and tomorrow so my dsp time is very limited
  • So yes just 1 LO and you can use either of the kits or both.
  • No png of the sketch just copy into your programme.

Thanks

I need to take pictures of the little girls in a matching outfit of theirs as I think it will go with one of the kits.
