I am in need of inspiration.
I want to create a page for my Tom that will be part of a memorial quilt but my brain is not coming up with any page design ideas .... would any of you be able to post inspiration for me? Have you created a page in memory of a love one?
Please post links and or thumbnails here, thanks very much for your help

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Here's a page I did for my Father-in-law. It was displayed at the funeral.

Sue I'm so sorry for your loss and to you and your family. You might like to do a gallery search for some inspiration with words like, memorial, heritage or something more applicable to you. Hope this helps.

I'm so sorry for your loss Sue - I'm thinking of you and your family. Erica's suggestion sounds good to me, too. Hugs.

I don't know if this would work on a quilt but I did a few LO's right after we lost our son to cancer. I found what really helped me was expressing my emotions and scrapping about his life. The journaling really let me put into words what I was feeling and now, since I just went back to look at them again I am so glad I did it. Now 1 1/2 years later I am ready to print these out and hang them on my wall. If you would like to look at my gallery, the dates were around the middle to end of August 2010. You will remain in my prayers.

My thoughts are with you Sue.
Here's a layout I did of my Mum.

Here's one I did of my FIL who died recently. I wasn't able to journal at that point.

Thank you all so much ladies .... sorry it's taken me a while to get back to this thread.
There are some wonderful pages here that really inspire me and hopefully in the next few days I will try and start a page for Tom.

I wish I had a photo of it, but I don't..........before my Daddy died, I made a quilt for him......Every member of our immediate family (4 children, wife, 4 in-laws, 2 grandchildren, my niece's husband) each wrote a short note about him.....I scanned the notes in and transferred them to the quilt along with a photo of each person. Some of us wrote more than one note......some notes were humorous, and some were VERY serious.
...........wish Mama would give me that quilt.....

My quilt looked similar to this one....
Except mine was much larger (double bed quilt) and every single square will filled.....some were filled with photos, and some were filled with the notes that the family had written, and some were filled with Bible verses..
In the center of mine it said, "When you are feeling poorly, please wrap yourself in the people who desperately love you.
