QuOTD 6/13: What about your pages?

What do you think of your own pages? Do you compare yourself to other's here? Where do you feel you could imrpove? What are you best at technique wise?

Hard question to answer honestly this one - I often compare pages unfavourably to others - I sit and look at layouts and say to myself " Why couldnt I come up with that idea" - but then maybe months later I will go and look at a layout I did and go - well wow I really like that layout.
Ive definitely found that the layouts I like best are ones I dont overthink - Speedscraps are where I tend to produce some of my best layouts - so Im making a big effort to not overthink my layouts ( and try to stop fiddling!!)

I am a very severe self critic I never think any of my LOs are perfect and always think there must be something I can do to make them better. I am always astounded(and delighted of course) if one of mine is selected for Hall of Fame or other honour. I look at and admire the work of others and often think "wish I could do that" or "why didnt I think of that". Not too sure what technique I am best at...I could probably list many that I think I am not very good at My biggest stress factor is choosing the right kits for my photos.
And my biggest problem is spending too much time tinkering!

Like you all I'm critical of myself more than others. I often look at pages and think am I just not as creative, or is it just that I can't do those techniques, in the proper way at least.

I think I'm good at arranging. Maybe not the whole page design, but at least arranging elements. I definitely need more work on clustering, blending, and OOB, and masks

No layout is ever finished.....I finally post a layout so that I will leave it alone......I really try not to compare.....instead I try to be inspired by the layouts of others.

While I'm working on layouts, I think they're pretty darned awesome! But then I upload and go Hmmm, maybe not so amazing. I look at other layouts and I'm amazed by the creativity and i wonder when I will learn to do that.

I wish my layouts could be prettier. I like to do funny layouts, but I don't feel as comfortable with my sentimental layouts. I don't compare my actual layouts, but more my style of scrapping, I guess.

It took me a while to not compare my pages to anyone elses. (You think I would have learned that lesson in college sitting through architecture critiques) I do some times compare myself to myself now if only to see how far I've come. I've gotten to where I've found my own style and I rarely work more than a hour on a page. I don't let myself fiddle with things unless it really looks off to me when I sit back. Not sure what technique I'm really good at, I like to blend and play with modes and filters.

I find it hard to overcome my inner critic - especially lately.
