QuOTD 6/27: Becoming Better

How can you become a better scrapper? Is it time, patience, technique???

Practice, practice, practice! Look at what other people have done and what moves you about their pages; scraplifting can be such a great way to try different techniques. The classes DSP offers are also very helpful! Participating in the last DET contest also made me more mindful of what I was doing with my scrapping; I was surprised at what a great learning experience that turned out to be. I think the DET bootcamp will be coming up in a couple of months and I'm looking forward to checking that out! Some of the other challenges (like the sketch challenge, the color challenge, and graphically challenged) are also great ways to grow artistically

Awesome answer!

I agree. I think practicing is the biggest help. You can learn a technique, but practicing that can make you able to use it better and in more ways!!

Oh yes, practice and don't be afraid to go out on a limb and try a challenge you aren't comfortable with. And then try it over and over. You'll be surprised what you can do well when you put some time into doing it a couple of ways! I need to be more curious and seek out new techniques that I don't use. It's kind of that thing where you know what you know, you know what you don't know and you don't know what you don't know. I don't know what techniques to look for and I tend to be not-so-curious about it. This is something I have been trying to get better at. It certainly does help to be in such a great community of people all trying to get better at the same thing!
