Hey Ladies, I could use a little bit of prayer/support. I lost my uncle last week... the last of my mom's family. Not sure why the fact that her whole family is gone is hitting me hard, but it is. She passed almost 16 years ago. Then not this last Christmas, but the Christmas before, I lost my Grandma (her mom), then my hubby's dad, then my Grandpa (her dad) in just under a month. I am barely just breathing from this, and then now my uncle.
I sure could use some good thoughts. *thank you*

I have just popped in to give all your lovely ladies my condolences on Omi's passing - she was the wisest, most wonderful lady and will be so missed by us all
I have such fond memories of sitting with her at lunch in Anaheim (during which I got an sms from my family who had, quite by chance, met up with Kay, they were all camping at the same caravan site!)

Nope.....I still haven't gotten caught up yet, but I have gone back a ways and I'm reading the posts I missed. I'm going to take a page from Abby and not post tons of replies. I'd rather spend my time reading....

Awwwww, that is so sad Kim, I really feel for you. As the youngest of a large family I see too many funerals too. Thinking of you and sending prayers your way.

Ok. . .
I know that on-line safety isnt something one should take lightly, but really. How long have all the attendees been members of the granny thread? How many pages have they posted over the years giving you glimpses into their lives and hearts? I know that cons can be incredibly complex, but this would seem to be a bit ridiculous. I think criminals would be looking for a more reliable scenario than "I'll develop an on-line personae as a trustworthy granny, in the hopes that someone with something worth stealing will invite me in to their home"
And, I think violent personalities would quickly tire of the lack of drama in the granny thread. Yes, the drama in our lives is shared-- but this thread is all ultimately about empathy and support.

Maybe you could mention the words, "sue" and "compensation" and see if they get their arse into gear.

No, it is terrible at the moment. I watch GMA a few times a week and have seen the temps go up and up and the film of cities and heat affecting the people. Not to mention the dreadful fires and the storms! Yikes!!!!! Where is the best place to live, weather wise in the US without getting tornadoes and heat waves and snow? Probably Hawaii!
