That did work for me, I was just hoping I could have it work through mini bridge or explorer.
I guess I will have 2 documents open:
One 200dpi and a 300dpi. The items that I don't want resized I will first put in the 300dpi document. I will see if that works.
ETA:
It works, this way, so I guess this is my round about solution.

Yipee Bendi.
That was not a silly question. I had the same problem with the beta. It took me a bit to find it in the preferences.
The only thing I did differently then Laurens suggestion was to leave the enable floating document window docking checked. This way I can dock my layout. It makes it easy to find among all the floating documents that I usually have open.

Could someone write down how to open a page with all the papers, elements etc.
Not sure if it's me or the program being funky.......

What do you mean exactly Brenda?? - if you want to see just the kit you are working with - open bridge and navigate to the folder that the kit is in - that will allow you to drag all the elements into your layout. - or you can go to minibridge and have them there right inside of photoshop and not have to have access the main big bridge window

I stumbled upon the overlays in the cropping tool while working on grad photos and now I'm wondering if there's any way to have those overlays to help with layout design? I know rule of thirds inside out, but the golden ratio and golden spiral, not so much...

well i dont know.. I mean I find them useful when cropping a photo - but ive never thought of using them for a layout - I usually do keep in mind the basic "rules" of design like rule of thirds, visual weight , z flow etc but not sure the crop overlay would work...

Hmm, CS6 keeps crashing. It wasn't doing this two nights ago when I last opened it. I wonder what's going on. I'm gonna reboot, because I actually have time to scrap tonight! Wish me luck!

I haven't been using PS for a long time and I recently installed a free upgrade from PS5 to PS6 but I am finding that the new version is much faster. I just finished a beginner's class and I'm still in the "Wow" stage of the capabilities! My new favorite 'tool' right now is the "Purge" as I tend to overdo playing around and bring my poor old iMac down to its knees - LOL. I have to get serious, I have thousands of pictures to go through but it too much fun playing!

I researched and can't seem to find "how to create a preset using the guidelines". I have found how to record an action, but I don't feel this is what I need.
I'm trying to create a preset 36x36 inch canvas with guidelines at 12 and 24 inches. Getting tired of doing it time and time again.
Any thoughts on getting to the right track would be appreciated.

I don't know the real answer to your question, but I did create an action to do this. Mine is for 12x12 with guidlines 1/4" in on all sides.

You can just create yourself a template fileopen it every time you need to and rename to whatever your new file name will be,.., when you are find your original template file will still be there.

I never had one crash with my beta version of this program, but now it crashes a lot. It has crashed twice in a row while saving my file at the end of the night. I learned the hard way to change how often it auto saves, as I had all my preferences set up on the Beta (thanks to Lauren) and forgot to go through and re-do them upon upgrading. BLAH. Anyway, is anyone having problems with many unexpected crashes?

New file template is no problem it is getting the guidelines in so I'll give the action a try. Thanks Ladies.

I've had a couple but I think more due to havin' to many things open or just plain user error on my part.

Im not talking about a preset.just keeping a blank file as a template.. Each time you open it immediately rename it and it will remain blank for next time.
However an action will work too .
