Puget Sound area crop is on for Saturday, July 14
Puget Sound Area Crop is on!
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the Covington Library, just off Highway 18: http://www.kcls.org/covington/
Beautiful location inside and out; we'll see what's in bloom if we want to do a photo walk.
If we want to meet before or after the library opens, wonderful coffee shop with internet access nearby, Cutters Point. Lots of nearby options for lunch and dinner: Applebees, Quiznos, Subway, several Mexican, Vietnamese and Teriyaki, etc.
Hope we can get a crowd.

Just letting you know....I am watching this thread and hoping to be able to arrange to come. It all depends on out of towners who will be visiting for my daughter's wedding. I don't know yet when I will be finished entertaining and free to run off and play! I will let you know when I know! Thanks for pulling this together

Oh, CarolAnn, that would be so great if you can attend, but I understand all the planning around weddings.
I'm hoping to promote this to my own Facebook friends at least, but also in the neighborhood in case anyone wants to learn about digital scrapbooking. It would be nice to grow the customer base! I have a couple powerpoints on digital scrapping I've done, but your expertise would be so appreciated. Let me know as your schedule develops.

I have been in touch with the library about promoting this outside of DSP. I would like to invite the public (including my own Facebook friends who have expressed interest in digital scrapbooking) to attend all or part of the crop. I have a P.R. background, so I'd have no trouble getting the word out and getting a few people in the door.
The issue is the library policy about not promoting particular products. I certainly can give a demonstration of digital scrapbooking, using DSP products, but would also mention other products are available as well. I faced the same issue when I taught scrapbooking aboard cruise ships. You couldn't be seen to be profiting from what you were promoting.
Anyway, wanted to get the feeling of others who might attend.

I was thinking about maybe attending this. I live on Ft. Lewis, so it wouldn't be too far I don't think. I was really wondering what a crop really is because I have never been able to attend one. I've been digi scrapping for like 7 years now and CT for several designers at various stores.

Let's see, we eat, we work on layouts, we laugh about our kids, we take photos so we can do more layouts, etc. Would love to see you. My son is in the USMC Reserve Unit that meets at Ft. Lewis.

I live in Kent and think I will try to attend. I am fairly new to digital scrapbooking. I am a person who loves crafts, knitting, quilting, jewelry, crochet, etc. Basically, if you name it, I probably have tried it at one point or another. Any way, my friends and family do not understand my obsession with digital scrapbooking so for the most part, I am going through this journey alone and would like to connect to some local women that understand. LOL

Momo, we're neighbors! I live on the border of Covington/Maple Valley. I crochet and love photography.
I'm planning to devote at least an hour to "Digital Scrapbooking 101" for any newbies.
Look forward to seeing you!

Sad day, the coffee shop I bragged about is going out of business, but there are plenty others nearby.

With all our typical Pacific Northwest early summer weather, you all must be getting a lot of scrapping done - indoors!
Wanted to check in to see who is planning to come?
I have access to a data projector, so we COULD do a class if anyone was interested? I thought about putting flyers up at the library for a 1-hour class starting at 11 a.m., but wanted to check in with the group here to see what the interest/turn-out might be.

Hi all. Our Portland friends won't be able to make this. Please let me know if you think you might make it so I can bring snacks.

We have company so I won't be attending. I am in Bellevue and not far. Enjoy and learn a lot.

Swat, how did it go? Did it go? Sorry I was not able to attend. I'm having some medical problems now but am hoping to make the crop at Red Deer, Alberta next summer.

Hi Cookie, my daughter and I were there for a few hours, but that's about it. I don't think I'd try for July again; people have so much else going on. I think I'd also involve more people. If others were interested in helping me, I'd be up for planning another one - though I'm having surgery in February.
Alberta sounds wonderful. Keep me posted. Is there a string for it? Hubby would definitely be interested in going. However, we also have our 40-year high school reunion out of state, and hope we can make it to Penang to see our son.
Anything planned for Portland soon?
