We experienced a tremendous tropical storm on the Tuesday night and in the morning there was fallen coconuts and palm leaves everywhere, I even found one of the wee hummingbird type birds dead on the ground, poor thing, it's a wonder more birds weren't blown out of the trees. I'm still tired after a full days travel back home, we left the Island around 11am yesterday and arrived in Auckland after midnight last night so I'm on slow mode today, after catching up with the washing and grocery shopping and collecting the cats from the cattery I just may get around to creating something later today or perhaps I'll just take a Nanny nap

It sounds like CIJ was a blast again this year and I'm just sorry I couldn't be here to help celebrate with you
Welcome back Erica, hope you had a good time!

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Yes, I'm really, really hoping for NO RAIN this Friday! Say it with me, NO RAIN ON FRIDAY IN OHIO!!!!!!

Thanks

And... I think Margie is trying to get us to do something, but it's just so hard to tell.

Welcome back to Erica and Tina!

Tina, I was so sad that your party didn't happen but at least it was a postponement and not a cancellation! Hopefully, you won't get any rain in Ohio this week!

Journal!
Yes very important indeed!

My son leaves for Band Camp in the morning. I told him to pack. He took his basket of clean laundry and flipped it over into a suitcase and declared the job "DONE!"

He's been home a week and I think it will be nice to have him go off to another camp.

Really...I do love my kid. I just need some more absent time to make my heart grow fonder...yeah...that's it.

He is 14 and will be a Freshman this fall. This is the first summer that he's gone away at all and it's been great for us all.

LOL T - my kids have been home only on the weekends the whole summer. They're going to be home next week and then the following week I take vacation....but it's been really good for all of us....they get sick of being around just me all the time (and occasionally the feeling is mutual lol). But I am looking forward to them finally being home for a while after this week.

Wow, Fiji...Bali...SO JEALOUS!

I had a nice trip to Southern California!

After my last trip, I started scrapping a bit, but now, after my latest trip (totally quilting related), I want to QUILT QUILT QUILT. So tonight I am cutting the fabric for a new mystery quilt. My BFs mom is sending me the clues one at a time. It should be fun, but it was so hard to pick fabrics without knowing the pattern.

As for Margie and her journaling, I LOVE journaling. It is, in my opinion, the most important part of my pages. And that is why I avoid doing my journaling-intensive ones...'cuz I feel a lot of self-imposed pressure to do it well!

Oh and I teach a storytelling class here at DSU...so if you are intereseted...hint hint!

Gabby I bet it's a relief to get out from under each other!!!

I agree journaling is one of the most important things on the page. Storytelling class sounds interesting.

Today:
Well Dakota is still complaining of a sore throat, but no fever, so off to the doc we go today this afternoon.

I remember going to band camp in grade 7 or 8. It was a lot of fun!

I am really counting down until our Disneyland trip. In just 48 hours we will be at the airport going through security and customs. Our friends leave this morning and when we said good bye yesterday, Jeremiah cried because he wants to go to Disneyland too. But the boys don't know that we are going. We are still trying to figure out how to spring it on them. Any stories out there on surprising kids with big things?

I heard on SiriusXM radio (Kids Place Live) the other day, the parents didn't tell the kids and the DJ announced it to them over the radio in the car on the way there. It was SOOO CUTE. Now, whether you use satellite radio is another question. It really was cute, and I'd love for my kids to find out that way!
