At its most basic, art journaling is the act of recording one’s feelings and experiences visually (like a picture diary). Art journalists express themselves in color and imagery, perhaps using no words, a single word, or quotes/lyrics. Some make collages of symbolic images and others just get crazy. It is up to the artist to determine how to best express herself in a layout. Art journaling pages can be light and frivolous, deeply personal, moody, witty, humorous, quirky, bright, or dark. There are no rules!
Here are some examples of art journaling pages created by DSPeeps:
For many, creating an art journal is a chance to create solely for his or herself. Freed from the pressure of creating for others, artists explore their emotions and their creativity without boundaries. There are no rules when it comes to creating these “visual diaries”. Consider it play time for your soul! This "Trendsetters X-treme".
