Help with 2 page LO...

Okay,
So a few weeks ago I posted the first page of my little pumpkin LO and wasn't quite sure what to do. So with Darla's suggestion, I decided I wanted to do a 2 page LO. I've never done one, and am not exactly sure how to keep the 2 pages balanced. I don't want to place any other pictures on the second page. I want to do the journaling on the block and add embellishements or borders... How do I keep the flow going? Any suggestions? I've attached the first page and the start to the second page. Any suggestions are welcomed. And if you think I should go in a totally different direction feel free to add your opinions....

Thanks again!

I think you are going in the right direction by using the same background paper. I might also add the other paper at the bottom as well. A round element(s) on the second page would be nice to soften it a bit.

Renee,

When I do a two pager, I open the pages up in separate windows and then move them side by side. I usually flow some of the elements from one page to the next (example: take a ribbon or whatever and place it on both pages like it's one continuous ribbon by aligning them up, or taking the title across both pages~~like you might if you were paper scrapping.) In your layout, you might "flow" your bottom strip of paper across both pages since your title is already scaled for one page. You also might try extracting the pumpkin with his name on it and using it as an embellishment on the second page, maybe even put it on as an Overlay layer so it would look like a stamp. It's an adorable page and I look forward to seeing the finished pages.

Definitely start by using the striped torn paper across both pages. You might also explore the idea of letting something else span both pages. Your title would work well since the letters would be easy to divide. With the stripes running across the whole span, try to balance with something that runs vertically as well. If you want to see lots of examples, use this link to see my pumpkin album. All the pages were done as two-page spreads. You might see them out of order because the gallery view changes sometimes (not sure why.) You'll get the idea, though.

I hope it helps! You are off to a good start!
