Gundi....hope your knee is feeling better.....that had to be painful!!
Scamp, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll have some help today! But, you do have Vegas to look forward to, just hope you're not too pooped to enjoy yourself.
I'm so excited about our fund raising efforts this year for our guys. We have received some very generous checks from corporations that help fund our Christmas box program. In fact, we've raised more money this year than we did the last two years combined, so we're very ecstatic that we're going to be able to take good care of our troops very nicely this year. And don't they deserve it!! I'm leaving Saturday morning for base for our meeting and will have the opportunity to send off a group that is deploying....I'm happy to be part of that, but so sad to watch them go.
I had a doctor's appointment this morning and am happy to say that I am off the "endangered species" list. My weight has finally reached 112 - my goal weight - and the doctor was very pleased with me and my test results from the last echo came back great! I'm just hoping soon I can get off those high calorie prescription drink mixes - they are disgustingly awful to drink. I feel so pleasantly plump and happy not to look like one of the walking dead.
Got to get to the office now.....WOS and WVS....see you this evening for the granny chat!

I'm thinking, Kasha, that maybe you were trying to GAIN to reach the 112. Sorry, I can't identify with trying to gain, but I'm glad that you reached your goal.
I finally got all the kids pictures printed out to go in the latest cards they made for 'our boys,' and the layouts for Carlos' family. The kids made get well cards for Kev, and he is well, but will send them anyway. Will get everything in the mail today.

Good morning all! Autumn is in the air here - it was 50F when I was taking the children to school today! I love it! And I just bought halloween costumes for 3 of our 5 dogs - we will be ready for the trick or treaters! What a hoot.
I was supposed to go to Andrew's open house at the high school last night (Doug was working) but I couldn't go. Actually, I drove all the way to the school, but when I got there I realized that in my haste to leave the house, I had neglected to put a shoe on my uncasted foot. I was not about to hobble in on a naked foot, so I drove back home and hung my head in shame. Who forgets their stupid shoe!?! Talk about a senior moment.
Our lives at the moment seem to revolve cross country meets. Here is my most recent Andrew/ Crosscountry layout

Kasha -
I am 5'9" and once got down to 113 pounds and had to drink those nasty drinks - a problem I wish I had at least a little of now. Sigh. Anyway, I am delighted to hear you are no longer endangered.
Gundi - Do take care of your knee. It really is better to nip knee problems in the bud. I'm one to talk, aren't I? I've put off getting my knee taken care of since last May. I have enough antiinflammatory meds to last me until we get back to San Antonio in November. We will only be there two months before we take off again and I've got jury duty the middle of November. Arghh!

We biked into downtown Shipshewana and went shopping today. I bought a book of world tunes sheet music for the dulcimer and Christmas cards. We need the truck before we go back and shop at Yoders Meat and Cheese. They have all sorts of yummy things there.
I ate turkey for lunch and the tryptophan is kicking in. Time for my nap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh, hey PQ Fran, in our town it would have been a-ok to do the open house without a shoe, , or did you forget to shod the foot with no cast??? :twins: :twins:
One more LO done using Rainbows end, I'll wont' get close to the number of LO's PQ Fran's done with it, , BTW PQ, loved the latest cross country LO!! OK...
Crystal @ Camp
Just one of the twins this time... and for those of you in amazement that she is a twin, LOL, my sister can vouch for that fact :twins: , it's unusual for twins to be sooo different in size n looks, but it happens occasionally.
Still doing Laundry so, that's how you get LO's done, LOL, in between loads BBL

Have a safe trip; I'll be praying for you the "our guys".
Since you've plumped up so nicely, does that mean can stop having a r**tbeer float a day in your behalf?

I worked on this LO last night, but couldn't find the final touches, so put it off and finished it this morning.
Backyard Fun
Sands, since you saw it last night, what do you think? An improvement or no?
