Sent you a pm, Mary--but here's the link to the postings. It's in the LV thread, but the one that Margie started about the chat starting (after I had already left! )
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...ad.php?t=26627
I also pm'd Margie, but haven't heard back yet--I can't remember the model number of the Epson printer that they were using at the crop. I think it was the R1800--does anyone else remember?

[quote=lauraloub;351775]Ok, so a group of you got to meet in Vegas, but what about the rest of us?
Kim's Tuesday morning Digital De*lights challenge for this week is to make your own Artist Trading Card. I want a card from each of the grannies!!!! It is really easy and no rules of design. We could print them all out (I have a template for like 8 to a page) and look at them whenever I want to see who is "talking" in the forum. Mine is here: Lauraloub ATC and I also put a copy in the Granny Gallery. That would be a good place for anyone making an ATC but not for Kim's challenge.
Kim says:

What an excellent idea! I will have to make an artist's trading card - I just told my hubby that I would love to go to the morning Digital delight, but I am never back from ferrying the kids around in time! What is a taxi driver to do?!? Then it hit me! I could carry my laptop and sit in the parking lot at the school and go to the crop. So that's my plan Stan! No need to be coy Roy - just go to the crop! PQ FRAN

Anyway, I started using the Dog Whisperer's techniques on their dogs and got immediate results. Normally, when their dogs got out of their crates in the morning, they ran all over the place and all over the furniture barking wildly. So the next morning, I walked quietly over their cages whispering, "Let's go outside quietly now." I opened their cages and continued whispering while I led them to the door and opened it. They very quietly went with me and went outside without any barking or running. It was amazing!!! Whispering to them almost anytime got them to quiet down - unless someone was coming in the door.

Works with kids, too. When I was doing a lot of observing of new teachers, I noticed that the volume in their classrooms usually corresponded to the volume of their voices. Although loud me wasn't very good at following my own advice most of the time, that's one of the techniques I suggested for class control. (I had taught long enough to keep control with "the look.")

Scamp, after meeting you, it's hard to see programming in your future! Our lone male scrapper in Vegas, Mike, is a computer programmer and you notice he stayed on task the whole time. Wanna guess how quickly I lasted at programming?????

Jen, we also met briefly. Trust me, anyone who survived the day with that raucous group of grannies is NOT a bashful person!!!!
I'm Judy, husband of 40+ years, two kids, two beloved in-law kids, and five grandchildren ranging from kindergarten to junior in college.
Welcome to the thread...at this point, I think a sense of humor has become more of a requirement than being granny to a human child.

Thank goodness it's not in my future! This is just a fundamentals course ( supposedly) for people with no programming background to sort of get our feet wet. I do not expect to ever be doing any REAL programming--like you said, Omi--I don't think I'd last too long at all!
Mind wandering during homework, checked my challenge list, the light bulb went off, and this layout is for three that were on my list! Coffee Everyday and Always.
Gotta go check out Karen's layout that I caught a glimpse of whilst posting this...BBL.

We are now driving home from Missoula. I cannot wait to get home and look at the plethora of photos we took. The course was BRUTAL, and Andrew is quite certain that he may never run again............that thought will be gone in about 24 hours.
As we are cruising through the great Rocky Mountains - what a gorgeous part of the country this is - it has made me contemplate how blessed I and my family are. I am so overwhelmingly grateful for a young lady named Sara - She is the one who ran the auditions for the musical that Bia tried out for and was ultimately cast in.
Many of you already know that Bia had SUIDS when she was 2 weeks old and suffered some brain damage as a result of the event. She tests normal for age in most areas now, but she has to work very hard to maintain A/B grades. She is in some remedial classes. She has some gross and small motor skill problems - and singing is all about muscle control. Singing is not her best quality right now. She also has an abberent form of stuttering that presents itself as hesitant speech - not the kind of problem that puts you in the forefront at an audition to appear on stage. When she said she wanted to audition, my heart sank because I was afraid she would not be chosen - and I knew that if she were not chosen, she would be terribly hurt.
I cannot tell you how much I admire young Sara, the director. This theater company is all business and they pride themselves on putting on consistently upscale productions. Over 40 children auditioned - and Sara put the wants and desires of a 13 year old girl who has struggled her entire life before her own desires to choose the children that would give the most flawless performance and make her look like a superior director.
I wrote Sara a note and told her how grateful I was to her for allowing Bia to participate in the production - she wrote me back and said that she loved Bia's gentle spirit and her ever present smile - and she thinks that part of her job is to help the children who need help..........to teach them to be confident, poised, and self assured. What a good woman. I love her and will remember her forever.

Well PQFran, that story has made me leak bigtime first thing in the morning . Good on Sara, good on Bia and good on you for helping her to realise some of her dreams! (I raised a disabled daughter and I understand your anxieties, your gratitude and your joy)

Welcome jenni...no good feeling bashful around here, the grans will knock it right out of you We gladly train non-Grans in all the things they need to know for when their turn comes (are you sure you want to learn ?) Having seen the Grans in action at LA, you would know by now what things you might learn in here (all good, all good!!!!). I am JillEG to distinguish me from JillGF (greenfingers) married 40+years,three children, eight grandchildren. I live on the East side of Aus, inland, and have been part of this Granny thread since page 1!!!!! Have just met our Granny thread founder Kay from South Africa as she toured down the east side of Aus...she is a delight!
WOSto all, I have tried to follow all the links and comment on the LOs, but no time for more today. Have a great day everyone!
