The 5 hours of linedancing on a Saturday evening really takes it's toll on me, I am usually not much good for anything on Sunday and have to have a grannie nap in the afternoon, and boy oh boy do those muscles and knees ache!!
Had to laugh Evergreen that you answered to your name at the social, every time we dance it I think of you as well! Might have to change my name to "Little Miss Rosie"" or "Outback" or maybe "Black Coffee" do you remember any of those dances?

lauraloub, I've always been interested in genealogy and have made some great connections with people via the Internet. I even found one man in Washington D.C. who had played in the living room of my husband's grandparents' house -- 70 years ago in a town of 500 people! You're right about the balance -- the trick is to be very selective about the info we share.
Even though I'm the one who started all the warnings, I'm a bit taken aback by some of your stories. Mine was more of an intellectual understanding of the dangers rather than a personal one -- some of your experiences are amazing.
Re the naked baby, I think it was smart of DSP to remove the pic but agree it's sad that such sweet innocence can't be safely shared.
Today is the fifth anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers in New York. It's a scary world -- but then, hasn't it always been? I think we're all reminded that we have to stay aware, take reasonable precautions, and then go out and live our lives.

Oh My I have joined the snapdraggon stage too...so funny.
Ok Kay, I do not live in a castle by any means, but I have a house of 2000 sq. feet. The greatroom is a room that we have that takes the place of a living room and a family room. It is a combination of kitchen, dining room and living room. So it is fairly large. When you come in the front door you see directly into the end of the great room that is the area of the TV and couches. I love the floor plan, it is so nice for retired people. Has 3 bed rooms and 2 bathrooms plus a den that is our computer room with a hide a bed couch for company. I use one of the bedrooms for my sewing room. Our yard is very small...the yard work is done by gardners and paid for along with the associations swiming pools, exercise room and club house by our dues each month. It sounds grand, but it is a very sensible developement. Lots of people here only live here during the winter, so it is very quiet. Most of the people are over 55 but we do have about 5 small families living here. It is close to schools, shopping etc. I feel a LO coming on.....LOL I have pictures already that I took right after we moved in.

Kay I must say I was greatly relieved to hear that you are going to be moving into a luxery apt. for 4 months. Then a RV after that to travel about and find your dream vacation/new home spot. Wow. Keep in touch with us when that happens. You are the glue to this group...having started it and keeping us going. More later.....off to get some of my stuff put away from vacation....yes, coming home is wonderful, quiet and your own bed.

I am looking for a great picture of a snapdragon for my next avatar...only this group will know.
Actually, maybe the snapdragon needs to be on our blinkie.
The contacts with far-flung distant relatives is absolutely fascinating to me! For years my father used to say he would have a family reunion by going to the park and sitting on a bench all by himself because no one was left. His only two cousins were bachelors who died fairly young, neither of his aunts lived very long after I was born, and no uncles of blood. No GREAT aunts or uncles, either.
But now I have traced the line back to before the revolution and, thanks to their having 12-17 babies in most of the families, I have discovered several far distant, but still "blood" relatives. None of my kids seem interested, but maybe as they get older they will. All of these relatives have different pieces of the puzzle and exchanging info and a few rare photos has become a life in itself. This all came about from scrapbooking!
Grandchildren are our reward for not killing our kids when they were teens.

Yes, yes -- a snapdragon for the RGC blinkie! Perfect!
Re genealogy, I think it's a genetic thing. I've been intensely interested since I was a child. My kids got mildly interested after they became parents -- their preference, though, is that I spoon-feed the info to them.

snapdragons you want, snapdragons you get. I just happened to have some come up in my garden this year. Of course I have a picture of them! I have posted it in my gallery. Maybe this one will work. http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...0&ppuser=29161

I've used up what little free time I have this week so have posted a rough draft -- it's not even together enough to call a WIP.
Will the person who had the quote, "If you can't be a good example, prepare to be a horrible warning" in your signature, please let me know? It stuck in my mind and, while I was standing in the middle of the post office, I remembered this picture of my son and laughed out loud.
I'm posting it prematurely because I wonder if it's an idea that this group might have fun with? (Plus, if you do, I can go back and scraplift! Ha!)
Rough draft is at http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...0&ppuser=19780.

Those are beautiful, Freda, and they're PURPLE. Shall we "wear purple" for the blinkie?

I was showing my DGD my bat wings. Those big flaps of skin that hang under our arms and will flap with the slightest bit of encouragement. (well at least mine do) She was absoultely fascinated. She raised up her arm and flaped as hard as she could. "See", she announced "I have bat wings also." She looked Down at her skinny little arms and then announced "My bat wings are still learning to fly."
I love being a grandma and watching my dgk try and make sense out of this crazy world.
