Yes Leslie!!!!!! Dont forget I can read backwards!!!!!
We had fireworks at the club too, they were really good and so loud. I just happened to be out on the balcony when they went off. They had two lots, I saw the earlier ones at 9pm(for the kids) but was inside for the midnight ones. I wouldnt even try going to the harbour to see them. I went down there for the Olympic ones in 2000 and boy was it crowded. The best part was seeing the jet doing the dump and burn up the harbour, that was a great sight. And getting home was a nightmare. I lost my son but managed to hang onto his friend. Luckily my boy managed to get the next train okay while I was frantically pacing the railway station waiting at the other end.

I stayed up until 12.40 reading the NEW BOOK - I am still working out how I feel about it - it is called Spook's Apprentice and is by Joseph Delaney. It was a BIT spooky reading it that late at night and ALL ALONE apart from the sleeping cats. It does have a warning though on the dust jacket - WARNING - NOT TO BE READ AFTER DARK.
It is small enough to hold in your hand comfortably, is beautifully printed and the dust jacket is a dream. It has a subtle overlay with grungy edges.
It's part of a 6 part series and the movie comes out this year. The series is called the Wardstone Chronicles and it's in the fashion of the HP series but is completely different.
Has anyone read it? I spoke to Tina about it, and she hadn't read it.

That sounds an interesting series, is it for teenagers mostly?
Funny about the design on the book, that is usually what makes me look at books, the interesting covers! (I dont mean the hunks on the Mills and Boone type books! )

Are you allowed to buy fireworks or do you have to get a licence? We used to be able to rock up anywhere and get them when I was a kid, but now they are severely restricted. Need special licences and have to have the right area and safety precautions, etc. It was so much fun when we could have our own backyard crackers, now hardly anyone does because it is illegal without the right paperwork. I guess too many fires started and people were burnt and too many letterboxes blown up which sort of killed it.
