You asked for some CC on this layout - firstly its a really nice layout - I can suggest some areas which might improve it though -
Firstly the title is a little disjointed. I would prefer to see it all close together on 3 lines or 2 lines just above the ricrac which would leave negatives space ( even if it is patterened paper it still counts as negative space) on the top left to balance all that goes below.
You have a nice 'rule of thirds"effect going on with her goggles right at the 1/3 mark - I would move your papers slightly so that is emphasised and the eye is drawn across at that level - then the eye would move down to the title and across the bottom section making a nice Z flow which is a classic design tool

WEll, I didn't make it to the 3rd round either, so you might not want my advice, but I will give you mine if you give me yours! (check out my DET entry and leave me CC too please).

OK, first, I think your layout is a bit busy. My eyes really don't know where to go or focus. If you notice, most of the layouts that made it were veyr simple. I think while the alpha is great, you might use it to empahsise words like COOL DIP rather than using the alpha for the whole title (or sentance). OR even COOL SUMMER. The date is all broken up and might look better all together. The orange text is hard to read on that green background. (So I am being nit-picky here because overall it is a really great layout, but DET looks at the nit-picky stuff).

Anyways, I hope that you take the advice you get and rework your layout to give 'em a WOW, wait til I enter DET next time!
