Filters

I am not sure what a filter is or what it is used for. Can someone help me out? I am trying to learn PSP XI.

Thanks.

Ohhh my ok I will try...it is something that you use inside PSP that changes the look or color of your pictures. There is alot to it, downloading them installing them and using them. Corel has a big help and tutorial section but if you are new to it you might want to wait till you get the basics down.
The best way to learn is just play around with stuff in PSP you cant hurt anything. And tutorials are Wonderful. There are alot here the campus section that are really good for PSP. Good luck hope I helped

I'm not sure exactly why there are different names for them, but there are three things that filters are known by:

In native PSP ... we know them as many of the things on the Effects menu. They're also called plug-ins and filters.

PSP can use *most* of the free and commercial Photoshop plug-ins now.

There are free ones all over the internet. Google for them.

The best ones do not come cheap, however. ::gulp::

I love Virtual Photographer from Optic Verve. It is free and works with PSP. Google around for it and have a look at what it does. It is easy to install into PSP. The site tells you how to install it I think.
