want to critique me please?

I just started a couple of days ago. Man, this is the most addictive thing ever! Im using PSE. Heres 4 layouts Ive done so far. Please let me know what you think!

Also, a question. How can I make photo edges softer. Like in the 2nd layout, the photos seem too stark against the paper. I was wondering if there was a way to blend them in more. I couldnt find anything in the photoshop preset stuff that did what I wanted.

OK, I am no expert, I only just posted my first layout a week or so ago

I especially love your last one and the only thing I would change is the font, try and find one a little more 'gritty' I love the journalling on the 3rd one as well.
