Probably a dumb question
I am VERY new to digital scrapbooking, but so far, I like it!
I purchased Scrapbook Factory Deluxe, and like it pretty well, except that it take a looooong time to load.
Next step is to buy PSE, but I'm a little worried that it is too advanced. SFD makes it pretty fool proof. Are there templates in PSE? Do you think I should jump into PSE?

sure, I personally LOVE PSE because it's easy enough to use (not as easy as the type of program you mention, but with the vast amounts of material/tutorials as well as experienced users, it's easy enough), and it can do a lot if you want to go more advanced. Frankly, if you're using a kit it's a simple matter of drag and drop, and therefore incredibly simple. Plus it can get into more serious stuff if you care to delve in a bit more.
Welcome to DSP! We just drove through Utah...loooong road trip! What city are you in?

PSE doesn't have templates inside - but there are plenty here at DSP to use! We highly recommend PSE. Emma teaches a GREAT class that will get you going in no time.
I'm actually visiting Utah right now!

You will find your scrapbooking is much more flexible with PSE also - you have so many more options and you can exercise a lot more creativity - - After taking Emmas class you will be so excited to get scrapbooking

started with Scrapbook Factory Deluxe but in no time found that I wanted more, I took the huge step of purchasing PSE (I am not a compt geek, so this was a huge step) I followed the free tutorials here for PSE and have not looked back since.

I have used PSE for three years now and love it. Still learning new things to do with it. Expect a learning curve and a few initial frustrations but I think you will find it more rewarding in the long term. If you have questions, don't forget to ask - we have all been there and are happy to help

Thank you so much for your encouragement!
Emma, I can't wait to take your class. We are in Salt Lake... for the moment. We're waiting on a job transfer for DH to Dallas, TX.

Ok - so I'm in Utah visiting right now, but I live in Dallas! Do you know where you are moving to in Dallas? Feel free to email me and I'll convince you to live where I am

Okay, so I've been reading a lot about Kits, and this is probably ANOTHER dumb question, but are kits specific to a program? For instance, are there PSE kits that won't work for other programs? How do I know which ones to download?
Thanks again, for bearing with me!!

Kits will work with any programme which supports pngs -( which PSE does ) so you can feel free to buy anything with confidence!!
