Rotating Layers in Photoshop

Quick question.... is there an easy way to rotate layers?

I have only been able to do it by copying the image to another window rotating and then copying back.

I am guessing there MUST be a way to do it in the layer rather than the longwinded way I have been doing it?

Can anyone tell me how?

Robyn

There are two ways to do things: one is to affect the entire image, and those options are under the Image menu. Things like Crop, Resize, etc affect all the layers.
The other is to affect just a layer or selected portion of a layer, and those are under the Edit menu. Things like Transform, Free Transform, Adjustments, etc.

Anything under the Image tab does the whole image, anything under the Edit tab does just the active layer. There's always a way to do something to just a layer rather than the whole image. No need to resize, rotate, crop, etc on a separate image. Use Transform, making selections, delete key, etc

Have fun! Can't wait to see what you're cooking up

Thanks Ladies

I knew there was a way to do it and I think I had even done it years ago, but I couldn't remember how!

Thanks again!

I use the Edit>transform>Rotate command ALL THE TIME. This is one of those "it's got to be easier than I think" kind of things but you just don't know where to look or what the right question to ask in the help section. This is a very good question and thank you for asking!
