Creating Woven Edge on Ribbon?

Hello, I am trying to perfect my art of creating realistic ribbons. What I cannot seem to find is how to create that realistic looking woven edge along the edges of the ribbon. I have done the dodge tool and tried to create thin rectangle edges with a texture fill but still can't seem to get the look I am going for.

If you are making grosgrain ribbon, then
1. Control/Click on ribbon thumbnail to select it.
2. Edit/Stroke about 8 pixels/inside/and choose color. Hit OK
3. Deselect
4. Filter/Texture/Texturizer/Brick--play with options and lighting
5. Merge layers.
