PSE 6 Help Please

I was making a page and I realized that I wanted to remove a drop shadow. I looked on my effects toolbar and saw delete. Well I deleted my low dropshadow. Does anyone know if there is any way to get it back? I can't find it anywhere.

Help!!?!!

First let me say I am not sure I will be much help....but I will try...

Did you just delete the low shaodw or the whole box of shadow choices? What you can do to get that screen back is go to Layer then click on effects and that will bring the screen back....

If you just lost that specific shadow, I don't know how you can get it back exactly but what you can do is apply any of the preset shadows, go to your layer, right click, select "edit layer", then the box pops up that lets you customize everything about your drop shadows so you can have it exactly how you want it....

Hope that helped you even a little...made sense in my head!!!

try this tutorial and see if you can add another shadow. You can't undelete something unless you can still Undo.

another way to get to the shadows, other than using the Shape Tool as in the tutorial (that's the one with the least steps, but not the best) is to go to Window>Effects to open your effects palette. Click on the Layer Styles icon (it's 2nd or 3rd from the left), click the drop down box for Layer Styles, then the right drop down for Drop Shadows, and drag, double click, or choose and click Apply to put on a new shadow. then go to Layer>Layer Style>Edit Settings to make it smaller (or dobule click the little fx icon in the Layers palette to open the same style Settings dialog box).

They sure buried them in that palette, but that's where they are!

I just did the same thing! Ack! I deleted "Low" drop shadow from the palette.

How do I create a new 'low' drop shadow to the palette?

Lighting angle: 120
Size: 20px
Distance: 20px
Opacity: 75%

I did this a week into getting PSE6 - here is the previous thread from a few months ago.
I reinstalled PSE6 to get it back, but another member has another option - here.

first thing I would try is resetting all your styles using the palette menu, choose Default or Reset, don't recall the option

you can try holding ctrl-alt-shift as the program opens

if you really deleted it, though, a reinstall is the only way to get things off the CD, you can't get them piece by piece

that TMP file solution I ahven't tried, but sounds like it would work if the style is still on your hard drive somewhere.

I'm completely lost. Is there an easier way to just create a new drop shadow shortcut and add it to the bin?

I'm hesitant to reinstall PSE 6 all over again as I have a bunch of photos w/ keywords and tags already. I wouldn't want to have to go through all of that again.

no, you cannot create your own drop shadow preset in PSE: those are all created in PS and the loaded into PSE.

Your Organizer saves all those tags in a catalog file, .cat, which you can just reload after reinstalling. Did you try resetting all your styles in the Styles Palette first?
