Question about Photoshop Patterns

Are photoshop patterns the same as background for digital scrapbooking?

I saw a bunch of photoshop patterns here and I don't know the diff between patterns vs. digi scrapbook backgrounds. They seem like they're used for the same thing.

Yes, you can create background papers using patterns - but you can't be sure they are high resolution patterns - otherwise you won't be able to achieve a nice effect on your background in Photoshop.

Oh - besides - PS patterns are tools, not elements - you use them to CREATE papers applying them on layers varying blending modes, etc. HTH!
