PSE & Organizing
A month ago I changed laptops and so far I have not got started on reorganizing my stash - I have 19.5gb of unzipped files and 74 folders of zipped goodies on my desktop. I have only got the option of using PSE organizer so am needing some good hints or tips as to how to organize well because I am not able to scrap at all with this mess. I can spend hours trying to organize and not seem to get very much achieved. Last time I did the whole reorganizing thing it took me months to get it all finished.

I'll be curious to see what you do and how. I have avoided using the PSE organiser because I've heard it's unwieldy and slows things down.
I just organise into folders and use windows explorer to hunt down what I want.
I wish I could afford PSCS4 because the smart collections in bridge sound absolutely perfect.

If you try ACDSee, make sure to review the Speed Tagging method.
I posted more on how I approached my organization in this thread: Organizing..... (see post #4)

Jennifer, you will be glad you chose a different organizing system than the PSE organizer. Once you have a lot of photos, scrapbook items tagged in it, it will begin to shut down your program while you are trying to make a layout besides slowing it down considerably.

Thanks for this post! I am just beginning to start what I'm sure will be a very involved re-organizing project of my digital files and was wondering why no one who uses PSE was talking about the organizer that comes with it. Now I know.........I'll be checking out ACDSee too! :-)

Jennifer, have you tried ACDSee yet? If so, what do you think so far? How does it compare to the PSE Organizer?

I've only just started with it in the last couple of days - hoping to get into it more early next week while I am off work. It is different because for the past almost 2 years I used PSE only. I'll let you know how I like it once I get into it more
