Ok so I finally decided to play with my Wacom! :)

And here are the results.

Oh my goodness, how much fun is this!

Now, keep in mind I'm quite a rookie so don't expect to be dazzled!

I posted them in my new album:

Digital Art

As well as my blog:

Tedology's Craft Blog

Thank you for looking!

Those are great! They look better than anything I could draw and I've had my tablet for a year! (Of course, I can't draw on paper, either, so maybe that explains it! ) The thing I LOVE using my tablet for is detail work, like extractions. There is just so much more control with the pen than with a mouse!

Lisa,

Oh, I agree!

I remember my PS teacher saying, "Okay... as soon as you can afford it, get a Wacom tablet. Unless, of course, you prefer using a bar of soap to doing detailed work!"

He was so right... the difference between the Wacom pen and my mouse is the difference between drawing with a pencil and with a lump of coal! LOL!

Thank you for the compliments!

Thanks, Kathleen!

Oh my, you have no idea...it's becoming addicting!

As I said, I'm NO artist...not by a LONG shot...but it's just so much fun I don't care that I have NO talent! LOL!

Thanks for your encouragement!

You're very kind, Marcee.

I'm still getting used to it... for me, so far, the hardest part is drawing at an "angle"... and also looking at the screen while I'm drawing on the tablet...

It's a practice in hand-eye coordination, that's for certain!

Ted, those drawings are awesome! And the owl on your blog reminds me of the "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop" owl. So cute! Glad to see you've removed the tablet from the box!!!

Drawing at an angle and looking at the monitor to see what's going on is hard, for sure. It takes some getting used to. But the tablets are just so much fun!!! I don't know how I ever lived without it! Now, if there was a keyboard imbedded in the tablet, I'd have no need for anything else!!!

Wow, great job Ted! I love my tablet, I use it a lot for detailed work and swirly stuff, not sure I would be that good at drawing a bear tho! Looks fabulous!

Great job Ted. Got my tablet for Christmas and took the DSU class last month. It does take practice of hand eye coordination

Hi Barbara, thanks for the kind words!

I'm looking forward to the chance to take the DSU class and learn more about the functionality.

Ted, we may be classmates. I hope to take the next Tablet class myself. I just got a Wacom 4 x 6 last week.

Hi Penny!

I'll save you a seat!

Do you have any idea what is covered in the class?

Duh...I'll go look at the description! LOL

Do y'all find it difficult to control the pen on the tablet? Mine seems to have a mind of its own and just slides all over the place. My signature, for example, is pretty good on paper. On the tablet? Yikes!

Hi Married! (Thanks for your comments in my gallery!)

Hmm... you may just need to practice more. Or is there a calibration you can perhaps do? Have you checked with the tablet's website/forums/tech support?

Just tossing some ideas out there.
