OMGosh! We were driving home from Bozeman and there was a car driving parallel to us on the frontage road. We were going 75 mph and they were easily keeping up with us.
Suddenly the little car fishtailed and flipped over and over and over and over. DH pulled over and I bolted over to the car that was now crushed and crumpled and resting on its roof. I stretched out in the grass, stuck my hand up through the wreckage and yelled, "Are you alive?" A perfectly manicured, petite little hand reached out and grabbed mine and I heard the words, "I'm alive. Get me out of here."
It took the police about 20 minutes to arrive - she was able to move all of her extremities, but she was complaining of severe neck and bavk pain.
She is 20 years old and 4 months pregnant. She said that she was texting while she was driving 75 mph.
Tell this story to every young person you know and tell them NOT to text and drive.

OMG!!! What a harrowing experience for the girl and for you and Doug!
It should be against the law to do anything other than driving, while driving.

In the photo you can see the frontage road behind the car --- that is how far she flipped and flipped and flipped and flipped and flipped before she finally came to rest 15 feet from the interstate. We estimate that the car probably traveled at least 50 YARDS before it stopped.

I agree .. we would be there in a flash with quiet bells on! Wish we were closer so you could come for coffee and cake (that I'd have to buy cuz I don't do baking).

I'm just latching onto this one Crys .. I feel so dreadful for your sister and the whole family. Cancer is just the most insiduous, hideous, ruinous disease that was ever foisted on us. I'll keep praying!

This just makes me ill! It's totally illegal here and the police really act on it when they catch texters, but they are so stupid and selfish they just keep doing it, and crashing their cars into innocent pedestrians, and cars, and buses and things. I wish they could put them in jail for a long visit .. might just make them think! Lordy!!

The police would not let DH and I leave until they got our "eye witness account." When they finally had the poor girl out of the car and we spoke to the highway patrolman, we were told that we could leave. That is when I mumbled to DH, "If you think that I am leaving here without taking a photo, you're crazy."

Thanks for posting this PQ. I have two grandsons here to hear about it. They promise they will never text while driving, good lesson for them. I'm sorry you had to witness this. It must have been horrible!

Told you that mice never travel alone........good thing that they are at your house rather than mine, because they make me VERY mean and short tempered. I cannot relax for a single second if I think that there is one in the house......or in the garage.......which is where our infestation was.
