Aaarrrrggghhh!!!

I have done a LO in psp9 and have a problem that I can't figure out how to fix.
The LO is finished. I resized it and exported it to jpg and it has a white border around it. Not a small one. A huge one! It had it when I resized it. What did I do wrong this time and HOW do I fix it?
TIA
Kathy

When you are done with your layout, make sure you Merge All Layers and Flatten before you resize it. If you do not flatten, only the merged layers will resize. The large white border will show when saved as a jpeg.

If you saved your completed layout in a psp file, just open it again. Merge and Flatten All Layers and then resize it again.

When I merge and flatten is when the white shows up. grrrrrr. I know I've done something wrong but just can't figure it out.

I don't use PSP, but will try to help. First, just checking, if you close the file, can you open the file with all the layers and it looks like it should? And have you tried this tutorial: Resizing PSP Layouts for the Web

I was afraid to close it but I just did and when I opened it and merged/flattened it it was still the same. That is the tut that I use to resize for uploading. Thanks for trying to help me. I'm afraid it may be hopeless and I just don't know what I did wrong. But I am sure I did something dumb.
I have uploaded the LO into my gallery if anyone wants to look and maybe then they can tell what I did wrong.

The only other thing I can think of is to go over all the steps again. Merge all layers and flatten and then go to image - resize - ( make sure that before you resize your layers that you have the box checked for resize all layers ) fill in the rest of the form with your resolution etc and resize your layout. It should now be ready for you to export and with no white borders.

Somehow to me it seems like you are resizing the image part of the document, not the entire document/canvas. I wish I could be more help, but as mentioned before I haven't used PSP.

Might a screen shot of your PSP help? Showing the layers?

This might be a two-step "argggghhh".

When you merge, do you choose "merge all" or "merge visible" from the menu? If you merge visible, even if includes all your layers, the new single layer is not the same thing as if you merge all.

If you merge visible, and then go to resize and the "resize all layers" is NOT checked, then it will only resize the one merged layer, leaving the canvas the original size, and the merged layer centered in the much larger area, which would create a white or blank border around the image.

If that doesn't fix it, try not merging the layers at all. Just resize and export - I've been doing that for a while now, and have had no problems with it.

Well, I think I am going to give up and just start over. I've tried everything suggested and I must have done a real doozy on this one. I wish I knew what it was I did so I don't do it again. LOL
Thank you all for all of your help.
