ACDSee - authors

Ok, I will do my best to try to explain my problem. I decided I'd like quick clicks tagged in ACDSee.

So I have all my QC previews in a folder. I went to that folder and tagged them as QC Previews in categories. Then I clicked on all of the ones from each designer and added the "author" in the properties pane. This is what I did with my kits and it's working like a charm for those.

But, for some reason, when I select a particular author in conjunction with "quick click previews" it says there is nothing there. If I click on any of the individual previews and go to the properties pane the author is right there!

What is going on? Does anyone even understand what I'm saying? Cause I'm confusing myself!

I totally understand what your saying, but I don't know squat about ACDSee, so I am useless to you! LOL ;-)

I hope you get the help ya need. It sounds like it's gonna be an easy fix though...

Thanks for the encouragement! It will probably be one of those simple things that'll make me go

I am loving having all my kits done in ACDSee, but I still have to get to know it better. It's not as intuitive as I'd wish.

Sounds strange Christy.

When you search for just author or just QC Previews, do the previews come up with just the single search criteria?

ok- I am not sure 100% what is happening. But- the only thing I can think of TAM is this--
Are you doing a "click search"? By that I mean that in your Organize Pane, you check off the boxes for "Author" and "QC's"

Do you have the search parameters set for "any" or "all"? Maybe changing that would help---but it shouldn't matter- b/c you have the QC's tagged and the author is entered...

Oh my goodness! I just realized what I did. And it does, in fact, make me go

I was putting the author name in the Notes field instead of the author field! I can't believe I missed that.
