Keyboard/mouse opinions

I have long had a cordless/infra red "logitech" mouse - sooooo love it! However its seems i will be up for a new keyboard - my current keyboard of 5 years is getting a tinny sounding space bar - so Id say one of my next purchases would be a keyboard - Love any feedback/discussion on keyboards/mice

Thanks

Buy a keyboard + mouse combo if you are going cordless. I've got the one that came with my Dell computer and it is the only way to go. You don't want multiple bases (one for the mouse and one for the keyboard). I love my cordless, optical mouse and cordless keyboard.

My "recent" exerience with Logitec cordless combos was not good, but they have probably fixed the problem during the last couple of years. If you like Logitec equipment (and I used to like it a lot) go for the brand you like. I'm sure the Microsoft combo is also a good choice. I've used their equipment in the past and it was fine.

I have Dell wireless mouse and keyboard and am happy with it. Have also had Logitech and like that. Most of all, though, I wouldn't want to scrap without my Wacom tablet.

I don't want to hijack this thread but your statement above caught my eye. I have been thinking that I wanted a Wacom tablet, but then I wondered if I really need it. I don't do much drawing--mostly manipulating.

Please tell my why you love your tablet for scrapbooking (my birthday is coming up and I need to know how high to put it on my list!).

Thanks!

Using my Wacom tablet is like drawing. You hold a "pen" that is pressure sensitive so if you want to use a software brush you can press hard or soft to adjust the amount. Resizing is so much easier to be precise than with a mouse. I'm not even using the special functions and software that comes with it. I just plugged it into the USB port and loaded the driver. I see lots of people giving high praise to the special features so someday I'll have to make the time to learn to use those. Also, I spend so much time on the computer that I alternate input devices to reduce hand and arm strain. Wacom for photo and scrapbook work and glide pad or mouse for other functions. My husband bought the less expensive Graphire tablet and our opinion is that going up one level is well worth it. The model we like is the Intuos. I have the 6x8 size but I think next time I'd get the 4x5 size. Less arm movement = less strain. http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/intuos.cfm

I love my wacom ... it's much more natural for me to use for my design work than a mouse. Go for it!

Ok--I think I have to go for it or I will never know. Intuos 4x5. I can't wait to have a new toy to play with!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I think I have read posts before about you extolling the virtues of your wacom! Thank you for the shot in the arm. I think I will go for it. Do you agree about the 4x5? I really don't think I will be a designer or anything. I have enough trouble making time to scrap, and I am not particularly creative, so I don't think I need a huge size. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.
