I showed Dakota this evening how to do a plopper. I helped her crop and add her photos and then add some journal. She is beyond excited as am I and she is really interested in this hobby. She's only 8 so she'll be so excited if anyone comments on her page.

Thanks all!!!!

Absolutely! I think this is a great use of ploppers! (Sorry Margie!) I did a few paper pages with Sebastian the other day because we had the kits given to us and he seemed to really like it. One day...he's only 5 still, but I think he could do a plopper if I did the typing.

Yea I think ploppers are perfect for teaching the basics without getting too technical

Kyle loves to paper scrap, and I bet both of them would really enjoy it. Problem is, I'd have to relinquish control of my computer. I'll have to teach them on PSE--I have that on my laptop! Also, it might make me kinda jealous if my 6 and 9yos know their way around Photoshop better than I do...

YES!!!! I think it would be awesome to teach my (future) kids to scrapbook and have them start journaling and keeping track of the things that were important to them. Imagine how awesome it would be to have a scrapbook about your life in elementary school or jr. high from YOUR perspective - not just mom's!

But I'd want to make sure we had more than one computer available!

A friend and I started to let her kids paper scrapbook with us and she soon grew to regret it. Scrapping was "her" time and once the kids were exposed to it, they wanted to do it with her all the time. She hated that. I don't think I'd mind...but I'd have to find a way to keep "my" scrapping time as well.

It does get tricky when you teach your kids. For instance, I would have to stop every 4 seconds to get Kyle another piece of paper when his didn't work out. Or he would ask me to help him cut out what he drew, or he needed the tape, etc. Fortunately, at that time, I was home and scrapped often, so I didn't mind too much. Other than that, I go out to do my paper scrapping, and that's a mommy day for me.

I'll have to remember to have her something ready on their PC for when she's good at it and self sufficient!!!

Yea, I think because she's young she's interested in what mommy does, now if she was older she'd probably wisk me away on her eye rolls!!! LOL

I don't have children yet. I wish I had gotten into digiscrapping when my niece was younger, because at 16 years old she thinks most crafts are lame. When I was 16 I was REALLY into paper scrapping!

My older son likes making paper scrapbook pages from time to time and if he shows any interest in digital I'm more than happy to show him. The younger one has delayed motor skills,so isn't showing much interest in anything that seems like work to him which most crafts do.
