INSPIRATION: Suggestions & Sketches Daily

WELCOME TO CARD-MAKING MONTH

Are you all excited about making cards but don't know where to start? You've come to the right place. Throughout the month of October I will be posting sketches, suggestions and ideas to help you on your card making journey.
Come back each day to see what the latest inspiration is then either apply those ideas to some of the other challenges running this month or just use them for your own satisfaction.

Post your results in the Card Making Month gallery and then link it in this thread so we can see how you were inspired.

The first inspiration is a sketch.

DAY ONE

A couple of gorgeous papers and an eye-catching embellishment are all you need to whip up a card from this sketch.

Here's my version of the 1st sketch.
I used a groupie for my cluster so it made it really quick and easy.

You Rock Card

Day Two: Tall & Thin.

Make a tall thin card. To help you out Lauren has a template freebie. Check out her thread, pick up the freebie and show her what you can do with it here: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com...ad.php?t=57253

I promise I did post this yesterday but I think the internet ate it and I didn't double check.

Day Four: PLOP IT!

Use a plopper to make a card.

Really want to churn out those Christmas cards quickly? Use a plopper card from the store.

Cards not for Christmas? Use any other small plopper or instant album as a quick card base.

You could take a look at this fabulous tutorial from Meg about how to use ploppers that weren't necessarily intended as cards.

Well that must be the quickest card I ever made - a page from an instant album and a quote from the Card makers megakit. It took me longer to upload it to DSP than to make it!

Card making month is already a BIG hit at my house!!! I printed my DH's birthday card on card stock. He loved it. Then my 13 year old son saw it and said "I want you to make all my cards [to give to his friends] from now on Mom. They don't make cards as nice in that in the store."

Maybe I missed something or am just too inexperienced to know - what size is this card? Are there standard sizes of card templates? Is there a forum that covers basics like? I've been told there are no dumb questions and to ask, so I am asking. I apologize if this is just too elementary. I just don't know how to get started -what size canvas to create.

Thank you for your patience.
