Brushes in PSP
I downloaded some wonderful brushes from Suzanne and am not sure how to use them in PSP 8. I know I unzip them and then do I place them in the brushes folder? First time unloading brushes from here. Thank you.

Yes, unzip them in your My documents>PSP8>brushes folder.
In PSP, select File>Import>Custom Brush. Click on open and browse in the folder you save them.
Good luck! I how great I felt when I installed my first brushes. Have fun!

I tried installing these brushes in PSP 9 and I got a message "Newer format version and is unsupported" ?

Oh, rats! I forgot that Suzi's files are abr files, which PSP doesn't read. Okay, use those directions when you download PSP brushes.
Here's how I use Suzi's brushes:
1. Open a 500 x500 new image with a transparent background.
2. Browse in your PSP files for Suzi's brushes in png format
3. Drag a brush into the layout
4. Resize as close to the edge as possible
5. Use your Selection Tool to grab the image
6. Click on your paint brush tool and click on the drop down menu on the paint brush style where you will see a floppy disc icon to save the Selected Image.
7. Name your brush and click OK
Good luck!

I've really been wanting to try using brushes, and I when I found this thread, I got excited--but now I'm feeling really dense. What does "drag a brush into the layout" mean exactly?
Thanks for the help!

I know you are not supposed to put a link in your messages, but could someone just give me Suzanne's site name so that I can check it out. I used google and yahoo but could not bring it up. I love brushes and I had online classes and was taught how to make out own. TIA PSP

Drag it like you drag an element or paper into a layout from the browser. Sorry for the too few words, Glynis!

Stacey, thanks for the response. I can't wait to get home and try it. The fact is, I didn't KNOW you could drag elements from the browser! That will save me some time! *LOL* I learn something new from this place every day

Suzanne's Brushes
Thanks a lot. I found the brushes and used one last night. Again thanks for your quick response. I love it here @ DSP and wish they had a snail scrap for others like myself who can't scrap within an hour because of certain limitations. Yet, I am hooked. This is my third class here at DSU and I love it. Only thing, they need more PSP classes. I saw a class that I really wanted to take and when I read the info, of course it was for PS. For all of us who use PSP, "HELP"

Can anyone hear the sound of my head hitting the keyboard??! *LOL* I must be doing something wrong and now I'm on a quest to beat PSP!
I can do #1-#4 no problem. I made a 'marching' rectangle around the image. Then I clicked on the paint brush. On the toolbar I have a paint brush with a drop-down. When I clicked that drop-down I see a floppy disk, which I clicked and typed in a name. Is that right? I thought those were presets, not really brushes. Should I be clicking on the icon next to the paint brush?
Have I asked enough questions? I just assume that if this thing is getting the best of me, there must be other frustrated users out there as well.
Thanks for the help (and the patience )!

I DID IT!! For anyone else's information, I didn't understand that I had to 'create a brush tip' from the selection (the little brush icon at the bottom right after you click on brush style). Phew. I feel much better
