PSP 9 - how much memory?

My PSP 9 runs so slowly on my laptop. ;
My laptop has 30GB HDD and 770MB of
DDR SDRAM.
How much is it needed to run it smoothly?

Is the laptop full? Or do you have a lot of that 30GB of hard drive still empty? I know that PSP writes temporary files while working on projects (to the hard drive), in fact if I've been working for awile, I'll sometimes close and reopen PSP just so it lets go of (cleans up) all of those temp files. I ran PSP9 last winter on my laptop, but it still had Windows 98 and only 4GB of hard drive and 256 MB of memory. It was slow, yes -- but it worked and I created layouts. Have you checked the "preferences" settings? There's a setting under "Undo" to compress your undo/redo settings (slower but saves disk space) - I've unchecked it to help speed things up. I also de-selected the auto save feature (and have to remember to save myself). Hopefully someone will have a solution for you but I'd think you have ample resources to run it smoothly.

I have 19GB of storage left on my HDD.
I unchecked the "undo" box and the "autosave".

I have another question. : why doesn't it seem to
help with the speed when I "empty clipboard" under
Edit?

Jasc was super about answering questions, and I would think that Corel will also be -- maybe you should email support at the Corel site. There may be some setting that is or isn't checked -- I don't know. It seems to me that you would have enough resources for it to run smoothly -- I'll ask around a bit, hopefully you will find some answers.

Edit?
The clipboard only holds one image, so clearing it doesn't do much. Pam's suggestion of closing down PSP and reopening usually helps. I'm sure the problem lies in how things are cached within the program, but I don't know how to clear cache without closing program. I have tried clearing my history, haven't seen a big different, but it makes it easier to find things if I need too.
