You think with your second child, you know to watch for everything so as to remember it all ... but inevitably, days mix into nights, weeks pass by even more quickly than with your first. Because you have two children to take up your time. You realize that what worked with your first born doesn�t work with your second and so you relearn things. The ebb and flow of time ... and all of a sudden you are looking at your baby ... and seeing a little boy standing there. And you can�t remember such things as his sighs and whispers at night .. only that he slept through the night at two weeks old. That he had �colic� and you thought you would go crazy from the cries that never ceased. The he was the smallest baby, but not how he felt all snugged up in your arms or his sweet scent and soft soft hair tickling your nose. Baby boy... ah so sweet.

Designer and/or kit name only.): Journaling: Growing up, whenever you saw a group of (generally older) gentlemen sitting around, you would say �Oh, they are farming!� They usually were outside of Juanita Gordy�s store, on old rattan chairs, chewing �baccer. Idly commenting on everything and everyone. Occasionally even about farming and the weather! Seeing you all like this brought back hot, humid summer days when we would jump into the car for the 2 minute ride to the store for an ice cold Pepsi in a glass bottle and a pack of salted peanuts to dump in it. You always move so fast they come out blurry. One thing people always talk about when they see you, are your eyes. Nana says, when you study someone (and you do so very intensely) you look like you are gazing into their soul; weighing their worthiness of your time. But you do usually end up smiling that smile and hugging them. My sweetness.

It is a good way to get the look of punches ... without the expense of buying them.

This song has worked for all three of my kids ... it is like a balm. I don't know if it is because it calms ME down ... or is just magical. But I only know this very small part of the song, so that is all I sing. Over and over again. This kit actually reminded me that I needed to record this somewhere ... maybe it will help MY babies with THEIR babies one day. Who knows?

Well, except for Caleb and that is because he is only 9 months old! We were too rushed to get to church, then to eat, then to get out of our clothes that I never set up a family shot ... and a real shame to since we dressed up so nicely! Darren wore a suit, I even bought a new dress in a very springy color (fuchsia). Well, maybe next year ... or not. 2009

I took my favorite 'sketch' in the painting and used it for my layout design ... I basically copied it using two borders around the focal point (my photo). Photo looks 'wonky' due to a transparency frame over it ... doesn't scan very well. But very cool in real life. Word art by Beth Nixon

Journaling: Caleb, you took one look at Sonya ... and fell in love. When we met her and Ben coming off the plane, you stared so hard at her and wouldn�t look away. Like you were absorbing every detail of her face. Later, you literally washed her face in your kisses - big wet sloppy kisses!
