Together at Lake Bled

Designer and/or kit name only.): Erica's Lyrical Rhapsody has such wonderful colors! My husband and I recently had a chance to take a ministry trip to Austria and Germany with another couple. Although I grew up in both countries, I haven't been there for almost 18 years! It was a special opportunity. Since we were traveling through Croatia and Slovenia (and I haven't been there either since before the war), we stopped at a lake I visited as a little girl. Journaling: On our trip to Germany we were able to stop at Lake Bled in Slovenia only for a few minutes, but the even that short time was a wonderful experience. I had visited the lake with my family as a little girl, but it was so special to share this beauty with my darling husband! This is my only son on his 6th birthday this year. He had a dinosaur birthday cake that Imade him, so I though the kit went well with it. The photos were very dark as they were taken with lights off. I tried my best to enhance them, but the main thing is that he face and his beautiful smile are visible =). Might even make a second matching page with some candid snapshots of him and his friends. Suzanne's fun kit was perfect for another colorful layout. But for some reason I couldn't get any of the colorful backgrounds to work with the pictures (too busy), so I put a color overlay on one of the whitish backgrounds - recoloring it into the light purple. Life beings at 40 - page 2

Designer and/or kit name only.): [B] Layout: [/B] There are so few layouts of my dear husband that I thought it�s time to scrap something about him. He turned 40 this summer and here he is on our small family celebration with his cake and the smallest children giving him presents. The gentle blues in Robyn�s Sany Blue Kit can be used with many things - from beautiful sandy beaches to baby boy pictures. The textures are wonderful. But I had more photos that I could fit on one page � so it turned out to be a two pager. [B] Journaling: [/B] We had a small family celebration with both sets of parents. The girls helped to make lasagna and the cake. We all pulled together and got daddy money for a new mobile phone, because his old one was broken. We also got him a mini cactus. He turned 40 this summer and here he is on our small family celebration with his cake and the smallest children giving him presents. The gentle blues in Robyn�s Sany Blue Kit can be used with many things - from beautiful sandy beaches to baby boy pictures. The textures are wonderful. But I had more photos that I could fit on one page � so it turned out to be a two pager. [B] Journaling: [/B] We had a small family celebration with both sets of parents. My mom is so pretty here and I am reminded how big and round my head was, LOL. The photo was originally very red, I tried to fix it, but whenever I would reduce all the reds, it would loose it�s beauty. I am glad I finally got around to scrap it and Lauren�s Touch of Gold is so beautiful and suitable for all kinds of layouts � from weddings to heritage. I did something different with the photo this time � instead of putting it on paper mats, I made it look like it is behind the papers cut out � by applying inner shadow rather then a drop shadow. But it was taken by the window, was pretty grainy, too much light and bad colors. So I tried adjusting it and applying several filters and color overlays to make it look special =). Designer and/or kit name only.): [B] Layout: [/B] When we visited my brother and his family this summer in Slovakia, my son Beni got to spend time with his cousin (he only has 5 sisters at home, so any interaction with boys is appreciated, LOL). One Sunday evening we went to the city for ice-cream and one of my older daughters capture the two of them in a seriuos conversation. Of course we will never know what the subject was, but looking at them, it seemed appropriate to use Heidi�s wordart �Imagine the possibilities�� These two young boys can do such great things in the future and I am looking forward to finding out what it will be�. I blended the large photo into one of the papers, I duplicated the overlay and applied two different colors to it. I used both frames in combination. When I saw Erica�s Summer�s Passing Kit, I couldn�t help but think of mom, since she wears only fall colors and this red is one of her favorites. So, I made a layout of my parents � they just celebrated their 40th anniversary this summer � so this will be a present for them. I just love the rich colors in this kit! I blended quite a bit of papers and elements here to achieve this look. I hid the journaling paper and just used the branches. I also masked out part of that round wreath to �hang it� over the frame. Designer and/or kit name only.): My 3rd daughter has so much hair and it�s getting very long. For years she would be small, so we would joke that everything she eats goes into the hair. But how had a growth spurt, so she is much taller and still has a head full of very heavy and beautiful hair. When I thought this funky fun kit was great to make a memory of this hair. I cut two of the papers to reveal the black one and added some stamps and a fun alpha, that I recolored according to the color chips in the kit. [B] Journaling: [/B] Debora has such strong and beautiful hair that it�s hard to manage sometimes and hardly any hairband can hold it together. One day we made lots of braids and then put them all in one - it�s amazing how thick this braid ended up being! My grandparent�s Wedding Picture

Designer and/or kit name only.): I am slowly working on a heritage album for my family. This is a layout of the only two wedding pictures of my mom�s parents and they are both very special to me. Grandfather died when I was 7 and most of the other siblings and cousins don�t even remember him. Grandmother died when I was 18 and she spent quite some time with us every winter since grandfather�s death. They were such dear people to me, that when I was finally done with this layout (after struggling to get it �just right� for several days), I almost cried. They got married after the war, (Slovakia, Europe) with no possesions of their own. Grandfather had barely escaped death several times during the war and grandmother had to earn her own way since age 13 and was saving most of her earned money, but lost everything during the war. They never had any wedding clothes, just their best Sunday dresses and from what I know even the hat was borrowed for the wedding. They had a simple family dinner at home and then walked through the tiny village saying hello to the neighbors. That was the honeymoon. Nevertheless they had a wonderful marriage, struggled through very difficult circumstances, but survived them all. I wish they were still here for my siblings and my children to spend time with them! When I saw Carole�s Golden Memory Kit, I knew it would be perfect for a wedding picture. The beautiful cream and gold combined with the beautiful flowers allow great arrangements. I blended on of the photos into the background and put the other one in frames. I colored the flowers a bit. I cut parts from the dangling jewels and used them also as accent in the flower cluster in the corner.
