Designer and/or kit name only.): Here is my version of a lo by Amysimages titled walking for a scraplift challenge. I had a lot of fun with this and it got me to journal about my sons very creative side. Journaling reads: Solomon you are so grown up, right now you want to be an engineer when you grow up - you want to learn how to build airplanes and trains - everyday you ask - how do you build this - from cell phones to hammers you want to know how it's made - it doesn't stop there you try to build it yourself - tape, sticks, boxes, blue - I am amazed at what you create. I used Amanda Rockwell's Blue Island Sea Glass kit. It has wonderful colors and elements.

Designer and/or kit name only.): It's not uncommon for us to wake up in the morning to find all of our kids have at some point during the night gotten into our bed. Journaling reads: Some of our favorite times are early in the morning when one by one all the kids have ended up in our bed. We sing songs read books and just goof around. I used Lauren Grier's Chaunta Kit - so gorgeous I love the flowers and ribbons

I love this picture of my daughter and after seeing a similar pic used in this freestyle by Rene I had to give it a try. I used spring beauty kit and flower brushes by Faith True and Amanda Rockwell's magnetic poetry set 2.

Designer and/or kit name only.): My daughter hasn't taken naps since she was about 18 months old and ever since by the late afternoon, everything and anything can set her off. This was one of those times. While I was making this lo the song everybody hurts kept running through my head so I had to use it as the title. I followed a sketch by Nicole white. I used Jennifer Layden's gorgeous Breakfast with Tiffany kit and the font dspscrappypants, which is probably my favorite journaling font.

Title challenge: Sliding into Summer

Designer and/or kit name only.): I think this lo fits for the alpha challenge and the alliteration challenge. We have been having so much fun just being able to play in our backyard again. My journaling is just about the same thoughts that go through my head every summer here in Seattle. Journaling reads: Every gray, wet winter I convince myself that we don't miss the sunshine, but then summer comes and we start spending hours outside and I realize how we are all happier and the days just race by. We just love the sunshine. So we made it through another winter and we are ready to slide into summer. *Kit is Lime and Coconut by Tracey Lee, love the colors and the papers are just awesome.

Designer and/or kit name only.): I always enjoy doing the sketch even though I'm not 'in' the contest :) It's a great sketch and I ended up making a few changes just to work with my picture and journaling. I used Scrappin with Nikki's Man power kit, great colors and elements! The journaling reads: Daddy promised to take you fishing in Trout lake this summer and every since you have been diggin in the garden and stockpiling worms. You sift through the dirt and then put the worms in a tupperware filled with dirt to keep them alive. Hope you don't mind hooking them when the time comes.

Summer Toes

I grew up running around barefoot and for better or worse I let my kids do the same. I also think it's hilarious that they all did the same funny thing with their toes while I took this picture. I used Scrappin with Nikki's awesome Summer Fun kit, great colors and elements. The journaling reads: Maybe I'm a bad mom because I let you guys run around barefoot all summer. But I remember loving that carefree feeling as a child and feeling the hot pavement or cool water on my toes. So go ahead, get those toes dirty, get callouses on your feet and live these Summer days to their fullest.

I had to adapt it a little to fit with my pictures. Those little squares were a lot tougher than I thought they would be! It's good thing that I am not a perfectionist or I would need to work on this lo for a couple more hours :) I used Lauren Bavin's Roller Coaster kit for all the patterned papers and I used the birthday wordart here and there and everywhere.

My niece, Katie, came up with this diaper race game and we paired the kids up and they raced to see how fast they could get the diaper on the baby doll. We said the prize to the winner was they got to change all the new baby's diapers. The kids were actually totally excited to win, gotta love kids! I started with Amy Dvckovsky's "Five" This is my niece she has just started Judo and we got to go to her match this week, it was a lot of fun and I learned a ton about Judo researching to do this page for her. I used Lisa Carter's keep em in stitches 1 as well as papers from [url=http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2036]Asian Beauty[/url] by Kim Liddiard. The quote is from Jigoro Kano the founder of Judo. The flower is the symbol for Judo, it is a cherry blossom.

Here's my take on Crazycowgirl's sketch for this month's sketch contest. I use Lauren Bavin's custom chipboard alpha, left blank and I made the puzzle pieces out of her funhouse kit papers.
