Designer and/or kit name only.): Just one bloom from a spike that has sixteen more blooms. This was the largest spike of Orchids that I have ever had. So lovely, I had to cut the whole spike to bring into the house. My textured background paper, and stamp tag I made from a custom shape.

Lower Text: The Panama-Pacific International Exposition was a world's fair held in San Francisco, California between February 20 and December 4 in 1915. The only one I recognized from my childhood was the Fortune Teller. She had been there forever! Lower Text: This was a fun day we had not been to the Wharf in many years. Two photos are from the wharf looking at the boardwalk. The gold building is the back of the Casino, the Arcade is on the left end . The right side is a long walkway with many shop. Saltwater taffy and candy apples too! The weather so clear and crisp, the water and sky so blue. ================ My background � I just used a gradient that I thought looked like a sunny day! Carousel & Candy Apple

The horses are carved of wood and have become very valuable. They continue to restore them often. The Roller Coaster was built in 1924. It is a wooden classic, know as the Giant Dipper. Many changes over the year but these two wonders remain. ============== My paper with Canvas texture overlay, and strips of my real watercolor. Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Designer and/or kit name only.): A beautiful morning in September to explore along the California coastline. The sun was bright and the ocean so very blue. Pigeon Point Lighthouse is located between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. This lighthouse was first lighted with kerosene in 1872. Then with electricity in 1920's. My background using Blend mode. "Beauty-of-the-Pacific"

Designer and/or kit name only.): Text Reads: The Charm and Beauty of the Pacific Ocean is never ending! The lighthouse with flashing light and sounds of the fog horn in the distance. The ever splashing waves, the tiny tide pools with little sea creatures. On a sunny day the deep blue water that goes on forever.......... The smell of seaweed and salt air. Just lovely, what more can I say. ----------- My background paper is real watercolor paper with real watercolor, then photographed. My tag is made with a custom shape. The chain, for the charm bracelet is a brush made by Stephanie Shimerdla at Obsidian Dawn Brushes, the brush is called Ropes-n-Chains. I used the brush to design a charm bracelet.

I'm not sure what year, my DH was pretty sure that it must be a 12 cylinder. Just look at the length of the front end of the car. My paper, swirl, and tag.

Art at the Beach

A fun morning at the beach to look at art, ceramics, jewelry, and all sorts of pretty things. It was an overcast morning, but the temperature was just perfect. There are still many boats in the bay and small waves at the shoreline. There were over 200 display booths this year. My paper background with texture, and torn watercolor paper. I made the Diamond frame with shapes and styles, and the tags with adding styles.

Boy Toys

I don't know motorcycles that well and thought I would just make a big mess. So my alternative was to heavily feather the photos. There were so many motorcycles there that day. They were on their way to the big "Biker Rally" in In Hollister. Acrylic Paintings

Designer and/or kit name only.): My acrylic paintings are when I was into my Indian pottery phase. I did look at photos to draw these. So how original is that? At least I did draw them, and then arranged my compositions. I will say it took forever to paint each little line on the mats. These are painted on canvas boards and I photographed them. I now used the top left one as a backdrop for an earring holder which I made. I have taken a hand built ceramic class and I think that is why I have an appreciation for that art. Having lived in Colorado, Utah, and Texas I think my love for the South West is showing here. Added Information: The piece with the green background and the large tan indian pot with a design was owned by my Mother. My Dad and I gave it to her for Mother's Day many years ago. The compositions were drawn and put together by me of things that I like. I did scan the watercolors, the one on the right was too large for the scanner. So then I did a fancy edge in the computer. The Mission

It is still a sleepy quaint little farm town with many antique stores and shops. Of course, the Mission is always interesting. Inside the Mission was a little dark I wanted to show how beautiful it is. A crossed the street from the Mission is the Plaza Hotel which is now a museum. The highlight of any visit is of course lunch time at Jardine's. Wonderful enchilada's! There are two knobs, one on the passenger side and one on the driver side. If you turned those knobs the front windshield would open. This was before single piece moulded windshields. I didn't know that!

Lunch at Jardine's Always a Treat! The Roster, Hens and Chicks are there hoping for a treat too. This is a really nice Mexican Restaurant. We have eaten there a few times. It is so fun to eat out on their Patio with all the lush plants and flowers. Further back they have a very large garden which is used for large Wedding receptions. One more digital painting and two digital sketches from my photographs. I made the paper background. I made the corner element and butterfly, there were shapes I think and a style applied. Historical San Juan Batista

There are many around this little town. A lot of old fashion historical buildings, and many Antique Shops. They also have craft fairs during summer and fall. The log cabin is near the Mission and is said to be the oldest cabin in California. I made my tag and staples and applied a style. The stitched tape is from a free scrapbook site, designer Marie Stones.

Mission San Juan Batista

Designer and/or kit name only.): Text: San Juan Batista is a small historical town in central California. There is still farmland located behind the Mission grounds. The Mission is still a very active part of this community and very interesting to visit. In this piece I wanted to show the Mission, but also the farmland which is behind the Mission. It was without a doubt one of the harder ones I have done. Your critique is welcome. For the dark overlay frame, I duplicated the background, brought in the rulers and guides to a one inch border, them deleted the center part. I then set it to Difference Mode at 55% which then let me see the background through the frame. I use Modes quite often, but I have never used Difference for anything. Hummm, interesting!

Text Reads: This quaint little village is a fun place any time of the year. Shops, places to eat, and a beautiful beach with sail boats in the bay. During the year there is an art & wine festival, sand castles on the beach, and a vintage car show. I made the background weave paper and the strips. Pacific Grove, CA

Some was planted many years ago by a man who lived there. Then others volunteered to plant more. It is now a city park all along the costal drive of Pacific Grove. Seven Gables of Pacific Grove. Once a private residence, later apartments, and now a Bed & Breakfast. Roaring CampRoaring Camp

The Conductor told us that because it was an overcast day the steam from the Engine would show up very well for photographs. This is located in the California mountains and the train travels through the Redwood Forrest. I used a freebie kit by Angie Svoboda called Sweet Page Kit, you can find it here: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=30377&cat=739 I did change the mesh and twill tape to gold for this piece, and lightened the background color. I also cut one of the flowers to use as extra embellishments.

Carmel Plaza Fountain

When we go out to shot photos, I always tell my DH, "I don't know why I am taking a photo of this." "I don't know what I will do with it." He always tells me, "You never know it could be gone." How true!

Carmel By The Sea

The car photos were taken at the vintage car show in Capitola Village this past summer. All of the flowers are from my garden. The cars, steam engine, and rose were all done in Photoshop using a layer mask to paint into. Text reads: With many guys and gals in the family it is sometimes fun to create custom birthday cards. Most of these cards work as custom cards for other occasions too.

I did change the colors to go with my page. I also used the Element_browntornvellum from my Welcome Folder. It is in the lower left corner. My neighbor was growing great Sunflowers in her front yard last summer. How handy for a digital camera and me. The top left photo, is not a photo, but a composition of mine. Scanned Indian baskets from photos, live scanned sunflowers and leaves, real arrowhead, turquoise, and abalone shell. The background are scanned photos. Critique always welcome. Marj

The Orchids in my yard did very well last year. I made the background in Photoshop 7. Actually I was just playing. Sometimes happy accidents happen!

I filled the background with a color from the Statue of Liberty and added Texture. The alphabets were from another site that has Freebees. Not sure about using the alphabets but it was fun.
