Scout Camp

It was a perfect kit to scrap a huge moment in my sons life...his first Cub Scout camp!! Journaling says: Bax and Caine started Scouts this year with 1st Gosford Scouts. They were so excited and a little nervous when they were told their first Scout camp was organised. They started with the opening parade then they were off having lots of fun playing games riding canoes and enjoying many activities organised over the weekend. When we came to pick them up, they were not full of stories, but fell asleep on the way home... to exhausted to even speak, stories had to come later! It is Time

I have so many ideas in my mind already!! This layout I did today was inspired by Archie's school project "Our Stories" marking an important milestone in his life each year..and learning to ride a bicycle is definitely one of those. Journaling says: IT IS TIME!!! Archie is finally ready to try the two-wheeled bike (with training wheels ...of course!!) We went to the bike track near Point Clare and got him going, we attached a rope to the front so we could pull him along, which he quite liked, so it was more us pulling than him pedaling on the first bike ride but he was brave and really enjoyed it!! Designer and/or kit name only.): I love Robyn's new Autumn Dawn VC...it is just perfect for those Fall layouts...but...as an Aussie, and it is Summer here...I wanted to show you that this kit works for so much more :)...I had a terrific photo of my boys playing around on an old arm chair at mum and dads that we were about to get rid of..they were having so much fun I just had to get a few photos. Designer and/or kit name only.): MERYL...I JUST LOVE THIS "Snap Happy Traveller" Collection of kits and QC's..you have out done yourself again :) I had a group of photos to scrap of a day trip we did in Sydney last school hols and using Meryl's collection I was able to put it togehter beautifully. [B]Journaling says:[/B] Sunday 11th October 2009 Rain Hail or shine...we were going out for a day trip! The school holidays had been a washout so far and the kids had been stuck inside for most of them. I found out on Sundays there was a Family Funday pass for $2.50 for all public transport, so mum & I decided to take Baxter & Archie for a day out around the city. We had a terrfic day, the boys ate icecreams and lollipops, bought themselves a few goodies, visited an amazing puppet shop, picked their special amusement ride to go on with mum!!! It was such a fun and very exhausting day and... it didn�t rain!! Making new friends

Designer and/or kit name only.): As soon as I saw Laurens kit in the making I knew I was going to my photos of my SIL's farm. The boys have so many wonderful times there and experience new things..I just love it. Journaling says: We took the quad out to the back paddocks and as we were clearing some trees, one of the horses that Mandi has spelling, came over to say hello. He walked over to Kobe and it was just fascinating to watch them interact. First the curiosity at a distance, then they got a little closer...a few nervous giggles later and snorts from the horse, Kobe got the courage to put his hand out for a pat. The horse pulled back slightly at first but then there was a sudden calm over them both, a sudden knowing or trust and then the pat. Kobe was totally mesmerised by this gentle giant. Amazing Sea Lion

Baxter on his roller blades and Archie on his bike followed him around and made sure he was OK.They were so proud and very protective of him too, making sure all kids were well out of his way as he rode around. Designer and/or kit name only.): Well after creating one layout I was so excited to jump in and start a new one, and having the freedom to �play� a little was nice. This is my altered layout Layer 1: brass plate BG Layer 2: folded night sky BG � overlay blend / resized larger Layer 3: Old London town BG � hardlight blend Layer 4: Cluster Dream WA � overlay blend / 55% opacity Layer 5: Map overlay � saturation blend Layer 6: Clock face � colourburn blend / 58% opacity Layer 7: Clock hands � colourburn blend / 41% opacity Layer 8: Word �Dream� in title from part of WA clipped with folded night sky BG / simple bevel 3px / drop shadow added. Layer 9: Cut top part of goldbraid off Layer 10: I made a new gold frame, as I needed something a little skinnier than the frame from the kit. To do this I cut the top of the valve element and duplicated it over and over, cutting it at 45deg, and adding a simple pillow bevel and drop shadow. The rest I have cut, resized, rotated and layered papers and elements. Journaling says: Just like dad, I can�t wait to get on the road. I want to just hang out with my mates, go surfing and not have a care in the world. This break will be the best years of our lives�I�m sure of that. DET LO1 Road trip

Designer and/or kit name only.): It�s funny, when I see a �Steampunk� kit I get so nervous�unsure of how to use it�but when I complete my layout I look back and just love the look of them�maybe because it is so different to what I would normally do, but that is the best thing about DET you get to push yourself out of your comfort zone and create a work of art :) This is my unaltered layout. As you can see I have cut, resized, rotated and layered papers and elements as allowed. To explain my title I have cut the �folded night sky� BG paper added a drop shadow then matted this with the �Notepad element� paper and added another drop shadow to make it stand out. In the frames I cut out the �Notepad element� paper and then added the map overlay on top then added my journaling. Journaling says: No matter what era we live in, there is something about blokes, their mates, their cars & the wide open road. It�s time for a road trip. The Beauty of Farming

Designer and/or kit name only.): I have been lucky enough to already use this gorgeous kit of Robyn�s, so the opportunity to show it off again is just wonderful and adding Erica�s stamps has given my layout that final rustic touch that I was after. As I was looking at that Square frame an old photo of my DS Baxter popped into my head and off I went searching for it. With the colours of the papers and elements, the old farm machinery against the green grass paddocks just screamed out to me! I am imagining this layout in an old rustic timber frame, sitting on the mantel at Opa�s farm, this is why I placed the photo right in the centre and used the papers, stamps and elements to create a matted edge between the photo and the future frame. Journaling says: Baxter, aged 2, exploring the old farm equipment at Oma & Opa�s. October 2003 Technique: I resized the Square Bracket frame to have it just on the edge of my BG paper and my photo to make it look like a rustic inked edge. Using Erica�s bubble stamp as a template I cut the dark green BGpaper and then enlarged it to frame the edge of the layout. I cut a thin frame from the light green BG paper and added a shadow. I enlarged and cut the overlay and placed it at the bottom of the photo and added a shadow at �50degrees because I wanted the flowers to stand out from the photo and this angle worked better. I recoloured and resized the WA. I resized the journaling paper and tucked it under my green cut frame. I then resized and rotated and added the glitter trail, dragonfly and flowers. We live on the rivers' waterfront and each christmas we get the king tides, when we first moved here the kids really missed their old pool..so the days of the tides they were stoked!!! Designer and/or kit name only.): I love it when you can take a little bit out of almost everything from Club Digital and create a fabulous layout. My inspiration came from Tina Chamber�s �School Time� word art. I then used 2 BG papers from Christine Gundersen�s �Doodles in Camping Page Kit� and blended them together. Next I grabbed Kim Liddiard�s �Tell Me More Journaling Stamps� (aren�t they just terrific) then I just had to include Lauren Bavin�s �FunkyDo Alphabet� and to top it off my journaling was from Suzanne Walkers fantastic new font �DSP Dagwood� WOW what a great month!!! Designer and/or kit name only.): oh OK....too much fun here!! :) When I saw Elizabeth's kit I was stoked!! My DS's school just had a circus-a-thon as a fundraiser. All the kids had to dress up as something from the circus (it's like like a readathon except you do circus tricks instead of read books to earn money!!) the kids loved it!! I had a few photos of them before they went to school and my youngest Kobe is the rabbit hee hee...
