A bride's lovely tribute to her parents on her wedding day.

Journalling:
Through my window
I look back whence I came:
An unexpected passage through
Some bleak and rough terrain.

I look on what you did for me:
The years of borrowed days,
The sacrifice of liberty
That only love repays;

The grace with which you gave yourselves,
Though not without great cost,
Not blaming me for fortune's gift
Nor counting what was lost.

I feel a flood of gratitude
Like sunlight through my heart,
A light that lights the candle of
The life about to start.
~ unknown ~

Alterations on the kit: Elements that were recolored were the Paisley Journalling Box Element, Wrinkled Mat used in my journalling and the stamp hearts. Opacity of the first two were lowered while the stamp hearts' colors were recolored to match the other colors of the LO. I desaturated the picture and took the sides of the B/W photo to serve as the border of the main colored picture.

What a wonderful kit and lovely elements for DET Round 3. I just love the versatility of the kits and elements used. I initially thought that these were more suited for vintage photos but I was wrong and I'm glad that such modern photos could also go well with the kit.

What a beautiful photograph - amazingly lit. I like how you've let her dress escape from it at the edge. Clever idea with the ribbon and the photo prong border. A lovely elegant page. Good luck with the contest.

Maileen this is so incredibly beautiful. I so love the black and white strips bordering that beyond gorgeous photo - it just focuses and continues the softest glimmer of light from the pic - what a smart and creative touch that was. The stiped background paper too that you sliced into "ribbons" to border the photo and journaling is fantastic - again more light. I just LOVE the light and shadow play in this design (can you tell? lol). Excellent work here - and it's going right into my favorites for future "lighting how-to" inspiration. GOOD luck!!!

This kit seems to really lend itself to wedding photos, and this layout is no exception. The photo is stunning and I love the b & w underneath the color. It's such a nice effect. The poem is lovely and the entire layout is gorgeous.
