Registered: January 2006 Location: South Carolina Posts: 10,824 send this user a Private Message	I went to bed early, but Don decided to stay up and enjoy the campfire. A little while later, I woke up to hear this terrible growling and yelling. I couldn’t unzip the tent fast enough while I was thinking that my husband was being attacked. When I finally got out, I saw a bear running into the woods and Don backing away from the fire with this horrified look on his face. Apparently, Don had fallen asleep in the chair and put his beer in the cup holder. The bear, seeing no movement at the campsite, decided to investigate the smell coming from the can. When Don snored, it startled the bear and the bear growled. This woke Don up and scared him so bad he started to yell. The yell scared the bear into running into the woods. Good golly, loonyhiker, first a snake, now bears - you do believe in leading an exciting life, don't you! It IS quite a fun story, thinking of the beer can and your snoring partner frightening the bear away. Great journalling in an attractive outdoor LO.

Oh My Goodness! I live in bear country so I know about bear encountes (not personally though...thank goodness!). What a great thing to scrap about! How your children's children will love that story! Awesome layout! I love the colors and the arrangement.

Funny story! We have had a couple of bear encounters in our camping days too. I love the way that you have used journaling as the focal point, and altho your pic is only the tent (cause you didn't get the bear on camera LOL) there is a lot of action in the LO, in the background paper and the doodle stamp. Great job!
