Valeri Brumfield's Perfectly Pink kit was perfect for scrapping our experience at the Race for the Cure. And I find Quick Clicks very helpful when trying to put several photos on a page, so I used Tina Chambers' Starring You Quick Click, which worked really well with the circle paper in Val's kit.

Perfectly Pink is a huge kit that even includes this fun alpha.

I originally started this as just one page (the left page) but I loved that big "sea of people" photo so much that I wanted to give it its own page, so I added the second page. The background papers don't meet up right, but I'll fix that before I print it!

Journaling reads:

In the Pink

My first Komen Race, and what an amazing experience it was! Wearing a pink shirt labeled “survivor” forced me to examine my feelings about the past year. I haven’t wanted to be defined by having breast cancer, but I must say on this day I was proud and happy to be walking with so many sisters who had shared that experience and lived to tell about it. I’m so grateful for my healing and thankful for the opportunity to participate in the race for a cure.

Captions read: Clockwise from top right: Sharon just before the race; the whole family got in on the action, even Grammy and Papa!; Debbie came along; it was so hot that Katie and I cooled off in front of an air conditioning vent on a downtown building!; Dan and Debbie at First Watch after the race; and Sharon, Katie and Dan walking. We wore tags in memory of Dan’s mom Judy, who died from breast cancer in 1999.

Thanks for looking!

Great double layout. I agree that the picture of the sea of people is too great a picture not to have a page of it's own. Great to get all of the 1313's in a picture!

This is really fabulous. I love how you have done this and represented the cause in its color scheme. The journaling is heartfelt and the pictures both fun and meaningful. I was so excited to see such a sea of people in your photo supporting such a worthy cause.

Beautiful LO - well done indeed. Thank you for sharing such personal feelings - i agree I would not want to be defined by this one thing, but I guess it is all in how you look at it. YOu are a very strong woman.
