I love doing collage layouts. I did this layout to look like a photo was taken of my daughter's desk on the first day of school. For fun, I did journaling in the notebook (using a child's handwriting font)describing what she did over her Summer vacation. I added little elements that made this personal to her, like the "Go Lions" pendant that she got at school (I took a photo of it and cropped it to use as a page element.) Her favorite color is pink, so I used pink paper scraps to make the bookmark with her picture on it. I included photos of her and her brothers and sister getting on the bus and posing on the front steps of the porch the first day of school.

I placed the envelope on the notebook and used a typewriter font to put her name and grade. The envelope might have held her schedule or a note from her teacher. The post-it note and paper dolls just added a fun element to the page.
